Almost anybody older than 18 is worth more than minimum wage IMO. Many people don't realize their self worth and are unable to market their skills so they settle for minimum wage.
Example: I had a job making $8/hr while I was still a senior in high school. This is when the minimum wage was $5.15. Yes it was manual labor.
