Two storms in one week. So 2020.

Are you planning to leave town this week just in case?

There’s no scenario I’d ever leave Baton Rouge before a hurricane.

There is zero reason to leave . Marco will scrape the coast and go west and Laura looks like she is headed for lake Charles......

Have you not gotten an update in 24 hrs? There is 0 chance Laura hits Baton Rouge with anything significant and Marco will come in as a 1 at best.

I stayed in New Orleans for what turned out to be 1 once not thinking much of it and it was a pretty miserable experience. It was a slow moving storm that hovered, started knocking out windows, a small part of the ceiling caved in due to the constant pounding, and the worst part, the electricity was out for about 5 days because of damage it did in the area. I thought it would be fine since I live uptown and was on high ground with little flood concerns. I was definitely wrong.

I don’t think people are concerned about the winds it’s the amount of rainfall and flooding of streets this week that’s likely the issue.

Plus, any time you can get out of BR seems like a wise idea.

Besides the rain this could bring, I’m not worried about it.

I forget. Are PJ’s weather predictions very good or very bad?

I don't really worry about a hurricane in Baton Rouge if the wind speed is less than 103 mph before it reaches the coastline. 103 and higher is when I get concerned.
