We were in the left lane crossing over from West Bank . Fairly suddenly (not slamming on brakes suddenly or anything like that) traffic in the left lane slows and traffic in the right lane stops. When we got to the front (only about 5-6 cars up) we see a police car stopped in the right lane with the door open and the policeman walking back from in front of it with a small orange kitten that he had obviously just rescued.

So, what do y'all say? Noble deed or dangerous maneuver? It didn't really bother me but I think that's mostly because I was in the left lane.

If he didn't someone would have drove off the bridge to avoid it. Noble deed.

Good intentions, but I think he was causing more potential risk. Could be an argument that removal of said kitten could prevent accidents, however.

Cat could cause a real bad accident, as people swerve to miss it.

Right thing to do

Man, it was a kitten. He stopped traffic for a few seconds to pick it up. I would have done the same thing. How the hell did a kitten get there anyway?

You would have stopped your van in the middle of a bridge to lower your ramp and roll out to pick up a kitten?

Good deed.
People weren't slamming on brakes and sounds like the rubberneckers stayed home.

Good karma for when he shoots a black person.

That's what I was wondering. It was pretty much at the highest point - mid river.
