If you give me rope -like a spool of twine- and knife, I'll be just fine.

So you're going to base your ability to survive on keeping a fire going at all times instead of choosing a firestarting device that will last many times longer than a lighter (and not have moving parts that can break, leak, etc)?
And I have no need for it whatsoever, but I want to buy one of those lifestraws just so I can drink water directly out of lakes and puddles.
