The Ford big 6 (300 cu I6) was the greatest engine design of all time.

Even leaving out all the great exotic engines I don't see the Ford I6 in the top 20, MAYBE top ten for US engines especially if you are a UPS fan.
In no particular order my top ten sans exotics save for one
Chevy SBC V8
Chrysler Hemi V8
VW Flat 4
Porsche Flat 6
Dusenberg Straight 8
BMW I6
Ford Flathead V8
Jaguar XK I6
Honda B series I4
Ferrari Colombo 12
Honorable Mention for the baws Cummins 6BT
Honorable Mention US 6 cylinder Chrysler Slant 6

You really are going to leave off the AMC Straight 6? Arguably the most bulletproof engine ever created.

The Edsel marque is not coming back.

People who buy Japanese and German cars are not real Americans.

Why? No troll, not crapping on the SBC, but other than parts interchangeability, why?

Attorneys and politicians are more trust worthy than car mechanics.

Honestly not even in my top 50. But I am jaded seeing some of the later 4.0s in Cherokees.
Any Top X list will be controversial because people will downvote due to the inclusion or exclusion of a single engine. Take for example the fact I left out the Toyota UZ/UR family which frankly deserves nearly every accolade possible save modding and specific power. I left out the JZ family and Nissans from CA to VR. The Ford FEs and 4 bolt main 302s. The list goes on and on.
If you ask 10 petrol heads what the top 10 engines are you will get 11 answers. I invite everyone to make a top ten engine list, I would very much enjoy seeing them.

The first rule of the Mouse Motor is you do not question the Mouse Motor.
Out of every engine on that list the last one I thought I would have to defend is the SBC. While I have always been more of a SBF fan and have built 4 or 5 for every SBC I am basically at a loss for words.
Without writing a treatise length ode to the SBC I will say one simple thing, they made one hundred fricking million of them, and that's Classic Coke literal.

Exactly what I thought. You can't answer the question I asked.

I didn't say I couldn't I basically said I wouldn't take the time to defend something that is probably the most natural selection of any motor for a list like this. However, I will make you a deal, if you make your list of top ten motors of all time I will give you a fair and in my view reasoned response.

Why do pickup truck drivers either drive way too fast or way too slow; tailgate; speed up behind you like they’re going to hit you, slow down, and do that repeatedly?
I drive a pickup, and it amazes me that the worse the weather, the faster and more aggressive pickup drivers go. These nimrods think their trucks handle better on slick roads I guess.

I don’t understand the appeal of paying for a fully loaded pickup, esp one with a sunroof.
Nissan cars look like assholes.
There is not a single vehicle made by Honda that appeals to me in any way.
The new Ridgeline looks way better than the old.
I like the Mathew Mconaghey Lincoln commercials

I am tired of Mercedes AMG dominating F1. I am not tired of watching Ferrari shite the bed. A contradiction in my own mind.
