In later years they made the painted trim used on the Escalade EXT available as on option on the Avi.
Honestly, if I ever saw one of those I wouldn't have given it a second look and probably thought it was an Escalade.
I always thought that pair made so much more sense for a big chunk of the P/U driving community. Like I think the Ridgeline is a perfect vehicle for many truck owners from a purely utilitarian POV.
I agree and was pissed when they discontinued the Avi.
However, they generally cost quite a bit more than a comparable crew cab. Went from 100k sales per year, pre crew cab trucks taking off, down to around 20k at the end of it's run.
Also, they were quite a bit cheaper than a comparable Suburban, on which it was based, while likely costing more to build. More profit in Burbs so why take the space on the assembly line.

Ferrari runs in a 20 year off 10 year on cycle, you have a few more years of enjoyment on one side at least.
That said the rules change significantly next year so there is a possibility of a significant shakeup. Ground effect cars are back!!!

Good Lord, please bring McLaren and Williams back to the top, as You intended.

Despite being an ardent Ferrari fan for over 40 years I would love to see Sir Frank win another championship before he dies. Now McLaren is a different story and they still have the stink of Ron Dennis on them for my nose, I wouldn't piss in their mouth if their teeth were on fire.
Outside of Williams or Ferrari winning it I would love to see Haas jump out of the field, 'cus

69 RS/SS Camaro is the coolest muscle car ever made.

If we are talking pony cars (Early Camaros and Mustangs aren't really muscle cars) then I prefer the 69/70 Boss 302 or the absolute king the 66 Shelby GT350R. I'd take a 66 GT350H for looks, even if it was one of the automatics.

But the pre-Dennis McLaren of Teddy Mayer, Denny Hulme, and Peter Revson...

Wait until McLaren gets ahold of that engine.
One of two things:
1) Merc Engine shits the bed and domination over
2) Mclaren puts some incredible aero under the engine and competes.

Ive got one that just happened: an Integra is fastest all motor drag car in the world (in its class). It just won World Cup Final @ MIR. Also ran world record time in semifinals. Fastest all motor in the world (for the class) is a 4cyl Import. ETA, might be 6 cyl, but still FWD

The McLaren that comes to mind first for me;

MKIV Supra is vastly overrated

I long for the days when El Caminos, Utes, and Rancheros make a comeback in the US

The M20 from the Denny Hulme and Peter Revson era. When Can-Am cars were quicker around the same track than F1 cars. The sound of those big Chevy V8s is awesome. I got to see a bunch of them last year at Laguna Seca.
Bit of trivia, people often try to work out why the intake trumpets are different lengths, they aren't the shorter ones just have to take a more circuitous route to the cylinder.

You could always just move to OZ.

Do you value nostalgia over speed?
Yes

Chrysler was far ahead of every other automaker in 1996 when they released the Caravan/Voyager/T&C minivans with two sliding doors.

Go back more than a decade and they save themselves from financial ruin and started an entirely new category of vehicle with the minivan itself.

I need to get back over the RA for the Redman weekend one of these years. They usually have a number of the old Can Am cars running.
Rolling thunder they are with the AL big bores.
I like the vintage T/A cars as well but too many of them are getting a bit nuts with the engines. They have the look but Donohue's Penske Zeke wasn't spinning 9500rpm back in '69.
Not that I don't like the sound of that...

War story mode on:
I grew up in the same town as Bud Moore's shop (~4 miles from my house) and Gene Fulton's home/shop (literally within walking distance of my parent's house) and spent high school and college working in their shops and learning to build Fords at Mr. Moore's shop and Chevys at Mr. Fulton's shop.
My first crank to carb build for me by me started with a 4 bolt main Ford (Boss) 302 block that Mr. Moore gave me from his "vault" of old 69-72 parts when he ran with Ford and as a privateer in Trans-Am. Parnelli Jones was his most famous driver while Peter Revson (his name pops up again) ran for the Shelby campaigned cars.
While I have never been a fan of NASCAR racing I often saw and talked to Dale Earnhardt in 82-83 when he was racing for Moore.
