Hadn't been to NOLA since January and that was only for the LSU game ... before that I can't even remember when it had been.

Officers are not going to enforce this.
If they do, they are really stupid as they will wonder why more and more people dislike them.
The whole don’t blame me, blame the law makers and I’m just doing my job is not an excuse to act like a dumb shite because you have a badge.
