Hip-Hop 50: ESPN celebrates five decades of hip-hop music

I don't go to ESPN to learn about Hip Hop Music! Who is making the decisions on the stories to cover?

They ruined SC trying to beat YouTube and Twitter but underestimated how many people put it on for background noise every morning and night. An hours of sports highlights instead of talking heads 6 hours a day would have saved ESPN. Too late now.

Agreed. I was looking at the site earlier and all they have is "Listen to MadDog Rant about this" or "Listen to Stephen A Smith's Brutal take on that". Who enjoys either of those things?

The "E" in ESPN does stand for "entertainment" though.

I can’t even watch it anymore.

They should have just made the sports center format expanded plus some sports history shows to fill in the gaps between live sports.

Yeah and the s stands for sports.

The sport is the entertainment.

They used to have this channel called mtv, the m stood for music.

Don’t forget that Sankey & the SEC have hitched their wagon to ESPN.

So does the E in Chuck E Cheese.

ESPN went woke and therefore, should go broke.

Don't mix sports with politics... especially ate up ones.

Amazes me that he has an entire channel on SXM.

It’s pretty obvious who their primary demographic of viewers are. It all stems from how that “community” prioritizes sports over education, and how the boys are programmed by their single-moms to think that sports is the only way out of poverty.

Man, ESPN was glorious before the Progressive Mind Virus destroyed the culture. They covered sports without interjecting Leftist social critique , it was crazy. It was almost like they had respect for their audience. What a concept.

Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I even watched SC. I mainly get highlights/news off of twitter. Other than football, I pretty much quit watch ESPN because the programming has turned awful over the last few years.

The only time I watch now is for live sporting events. It's crazy because I used to watch Sportscenter religiously, multiple times a day. What made them think watching people yell and give stupid opinions about sports would be better than just watching actual sports?

I’ll never forget in like 2012 or 2013 the seemingly weeks long constant coverage leading up to Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday.

Good lord.

You never know what you get with cable vs them trying to make you have ESPN plus

Unless your "pretty obvious" means young men, then you're pretty obviously wrong.

I will allow this if they also celebrate 55 years of Heavy Metal. Highly unlikely.
