They're the same company now.
Plus, they have commercials on a lot of channels........I paid for a multi year contract, but wish I wouldn't have.

Man it's nice when traveling and not having to search for the local channels. My in laws live in Huntsville and it's worth it for those 2-3 trips per year alone.

I would call them both and get quotes.
They both have the same channels and same pricing but you might talk one of them into pricing lower.
Rumor has that XM has better satellites that provide better sound quality.

The company is called Sirius XM now. They are one and the same

Even though the same company, there still are a few differences in channel lineup, etc. leftover since the merger. Probably not enough of a difference to notice, though.

Neither. No way would I pay for commercial laden radio when I can get it free. Pandora cost me about $5/month for ZERO commercials

Are there differences between the Sirius, XM and SiriusXM satellite radio subscription packages?
Each All Access package is basically the same. Select level packages differ in terms of the premium programming they each include. SiriusXM packages are the only packages that feature our Xtra channels.
Click here to see which type of radio you have in your vehicle, then check out the Channel Lineup page to see which channels come with each subscription package.

I travel for work in places where there is no cellphone service, so no Pandora. I think Sirius is worrh every penny because I am on the road 40k miles a year. Play the cancel game every 6 months and it works like a charm.

Hate how you have to pay $30/month for streaming and Howard Stern. Next tier you can get for like $7/month.

I have a hacked version of pandora with unlimited ads and unlimited skips.
The issue with Pandora is. They don't really add new songs to a channel you have.
If you are in the car a lot, it begins to be a playlist.
For all that I can just make cds like I did 15 years ago.
Satellite radio gives you a lot of choices, but still I find going through my 20 presets and not finding a song I want to hear.
Plus $15 a month sucks.
It needs to be more a la carte.

Get a SiriusXM radio. Also, if you just want music look into the accuradio app, it's free.

Rarely listen to fm anymore. Music channels are commercial free. A lot of selection.

I got in on the Sirius lifetime subscription years ago. Before the merge. Best $500 I ever spent. Grandfathered in with the merger as well. Pretty sure they don't offer the lifetime subscription offer anymore though.
