Who will be the head coaches for these teams? Washed up nfl coaches or up and comers?
Check out the HCs for the AAF league.
LINK
Rick Neuheisel, Steve Spurrier Dennis Erickson, etc. It does seem like the AAF is trying to appeal more towards college football fans. The league owns each team and just looking at the rosters, they all have players who are from schools closes to the respective city. Memphis has several former LSU players. The Orlando team's players mostly went to Florida schools, Florida, FSU, Miami, UCF....
I am thinking this league could possibly appeal to a streaming company. Social media companies, Netflix, Hulu, etc... They will all be expanding the content they provide, so I can see them looking for niche markets...

Crazy thing is, the first time the XFL came about it was supposed to be EXTREME rules football, which it was, but it wasn't that much different than what the NFL was in the late 90's...Now it's not going to make it because it is going to be too EXTREME for today's society and too different than the NFL

These experiments have always failed here and the dynamic is even less favorable at this time.
I see what you're saying. But besides that one basketball team we've had, each experiment had surrounding circumstances.
Pirates only folded due the CFL abandoning the American expansion all together. The last season was actually pretty successful and the franchise was on the uptick.
Battlewings didn't survive because the owner saw a hole in Nola and went for it. Besides where is league now?
Original Mudbugs got screwed by their lease with CenturyLink and no other ice options at the time.
Captains were always successful until SMG bought them and tried to make minor league baseball edgy. Also saw a hole in a major market and went for it.
All the other teams we've had and lost were semi-pro or just bad organizations.
I think the downtown arena debacle, as bad as the whole idea is, has whet the appetite of locals who miss having pro sports in town.
Sorry for Shreveport history lesson that 99% of you could give a shite about.

Especially if they take a reality TV approach. Like hbo does in the off season.
Not scripted, but cute and edited to make a story.

Howard Stern went to Vince about producing that type of show for him. Stories of players, cheerleaders, interactions, make it a soap opera for men and women. But Vince was adamant on playing live football, and it failed miserably.

put that range in there as it also covers the low range of nfl players.

What cities do you think would be a fit for a team.

How about Livingston Parish?

Here's what my league would look like in the beginning before being in a position to go after the major markets that already have NFL teams. I deduct points from a market if they have a major D1 football program since that would be competition as well.
South East:
San Antonio
Orlando
Havana
Monterrey, MX
Midwest:
STL
Toronto
Columbus
Milwaukee
West:
Vegas
SLC
Portland
Sacramento
Playoffs = winners of each division plus one wildcard that is based on a QB/WR skills contest between the two teams with the highest attendance.
