WWYD?- Wrong order from eBay

I recently ordered a food processor from an independent seller on eBay. They sent the wrong item (it's a coffee press thing, I don't even know) and I messaged them and they told me they no longer had the processor I wanted. They said they would issue me a full refund, which they did. I told them I would return their coffee press thing to them and they are telling me to keep it free of charge. I told them I don't want it/need it/don't feel comfortable keeping it and they said it's not a problem.
What would you do? I'm probably just going to send it back as I feel odd keeping (or reselling) something that I didn't pay for and I don't want to be bothered with it. The item isn't expensive, only $20, but it's the principle. Thoughts?
It just seems odd that they insist I keep the item. And yes, it's an American company.

if the coffee press is a so-called French Press, they aren't that expensive. The seller might be required to reimburse you shipping which could (with paperwork time) exceed the cost of a small press.

Do the math son. It's worth $20. How much do you think it cost to ship it back? Probably $10 or more? How much do you think it costs for someone to unpack and restock it? They might break even, so they don't gain anything by you shipping it back.

Just keep it. You told them you would return it and they told you it was not a problem. What is the concern? It's probably too much hassle for them to restock and not worth the effort.

Keep it. It's cheaper for them to pay to ship it back, re-inventory it, etc. Think of it as a delivered pizza with the wrong toppings. They deliver the correct one and let you keep the wrong one gratis.

I just get the feeling that if I keep it the company is going to eventually try to charge me for it. I don't trust anyone these days.

Keep the correspondence, dispute the charge if they ever charge you (they won't).

I would keep it or find someone to give it to. They told you to keep it. It's yours. If you don't want it I'll take it.
