Any time someone brags about free comps at a casino....just know it only means they have spent a lot of money with the casino. Not necessarily that they have won a lot of money. When I hear someone brag about that my first thought is "you must have lost a lot of money to the casino".

Stopped reading here. No one wants your political opinion in a thread where we can relentlessly make fun of the OP and his wife. GTFO with that nonsense.

Good point. Pimp out the wife to make back the money and dump her. (Better?)

That is along the lines of those who brag about their wins. They usually never mention the multiple losses that occurred for each win.

Louisiana allows you to self exclude from all casinos in the state.

Here is the link

LINK

Once you do this..it lasts for at least 5 years. You can ask to be removed after 5 years is up but cannot be removed before the 5 years is up.
quote:

Your photograph and identifying information will be distributed to appropriate personnel of the Casino Operator, Casino Manager, and all casino gaming licensees. The information contained in the Request Form and the self-exclusion list maintained by the Board is not open to public inspection and every effort will be made to maintain its confidentiality. However, neither the Board, State Police, nor the Louisiana Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General ("Attorney General's Office") are liable for any disclosures of such information other than a willful unlawful disclosure. Further, the Casino Operator, Casino Manager and all casino gaming licensees may alert other Louisiana casino gaming establishments to be on the look out for you if you are discovered attempting to engage in gaming activities while on the self-exclusion list.

quote:

It is your responsibility to refrain from gaming activities. Neither the Board, State Police, nor the Attorney General's Office are liable for any acts or omissions in processing or enforcement of your request for self-exclusion, including failure to withhold your gaming privileges. However, if you are caught gambling at a casino, any winnings, including any chips, tokens, or electronic gaming device credits in your possession will be withheld and remitted to the State of Louisiana, you will be escorted from the gaming floor, and may be subject to arrest pursuant to the Gaming Control Law or any other applicable provisions of law. Further, neither the Board, State Police, nor the Attorney General's Office are liable for any acts or omissions in processing or enforcement of any later request by you to be removed from the self-exclusion list or your removal from the self-exclusion list.

If there is no kids involved and hasn't been with the woman very long I'd say get out. Depends on how much he cares for this woman and other redeeming qualities she might have.

Does she work? If not she should have to run every purchase that isn't food and gas by your brother. Debit card should be limited to 500 dollars a day as well. No access to credit cards

If she does work. No access to credit cards and debit card limited to 500 dollars a day.

If there are kids and he really wants to make it work counseling be it professional or through a church. Constant monitoring by your brother on the accounts. There is an app called Life360 that tracks people's location by their phone. You can place flags on places that alerts you when people are there. Mark all casinos or places she could gamble.

You can limit your credit cards to transactions in a certain geographical area as well.

First off, if he truly deeply loves her, get her help and work it out. If it is not complicated, divorce and move on.

My wife is the COMPLETE opposite of a gambling addict. We have went to one casino in 7 years, she played one slot machine pull, lost maybe $1.25 and has never played again.

Some casinos look at your bank accounts before giving you markers. I.E. to get a $10,000 marker, you need to have assets over $30,000.

I do not wish that upon anybody. He should really get out before it gets even worse, because it will.

So your brother let his known gambling addict wife go on a casino weekend bender with the girls?

File for conservatorship asap! Remove her from all joint accounts, and remove her from the deed to the house/title to the car.

Once the faucet is dry, you can talk about repairing the damage already done.

Countless? Really? Not saying you're wrong but that is crazy to me. I guess it's like other addictions, if you don't have it, you don't understand it. I don't like losing anything more than like $50
