Kevin Lofgren said he is heartbroken at the news that his vehicle is in some way connected to the murder investigation of 12-year-old Derrick Cash.
"I understand I have nothing to do with it. I cannot help who stole my car. But there is a part of me that feels it. I have a 13-year-old son. It is just awful. It just hurts me," Lofgren said.

Cash was found shot on Michoud Boulevard on Jan. 3, later dying from his injuries. Next to his body, officials found Lofgren's stolen black Jeep Cherokee. NOPD has not indicated that Cash was involved with stealing the vehicle in any way.
He said it was Jan. 1 when he parked his truck outside of the Pontchartrain Hotel along St. Charles Avenue. He and his girlfriend had just checked in, visiting from Dallas.
"I hand the keys to the valet. He starts writing on the check. The car sorta aggressively takes off. I said 'That was a little aggressive.' I say 'He needs my key. You still have my key.' He says 'I am the only valet here.'"
The 12-year-old was laid to rest on Thursday. So far no one has been arrested for the crime.

Idk, maybe not do “catch and release”. Also charge attempted murder when your having to drive backwards out of a shooting situation. (See the thread from earlier of the Tesla driver). They catch some of them and just release them with minor infractions. Make examples of them to deter this from happening.

I have also heard they will not pursue. Even if you have to yank your kid from the car to get away safely they will not pursue the stolen car.
Mayor is too busy giving Gangsta rappers the key to the city and making vaccine/mask rap songs. Cmon this is just sad.

Keep voting on skin color and not new ideas or a proven candidate. They deserve every bit of what they reap period.

I mean, honestly that's not that bad. The prevalence is so low at a 0.0000055061% incidence rate for the metro pop of 1,271,320.
Go out and live life. Nothing to fear
Holy shite, what a dumbass.

Central City and the East. Cops don’t care.

May be a good enough place to ask this, for all of the CC in here; how do you handle it when you are driving into a city like NOLA for the sole intention of going somewhere that is a gun free zone (I.e., HS gym to watch your kid play, hospital, zoo…). Do you not carry, lock in the car, carry anyway and hope for the best?

lock in the car
Please have a strong box in your car if you might be storing your gun in there. If you just leave it in the glove box or center console they will help themselves to it. They've busted out truck windows at the zoo parking lot

I will shite on the city all day, but this is a little much, even for me. Carjacking and crime is up but it’s not like you need a gun to feel safe in every facet of life in this city lol.

Mayor wants the city to feel more like her shot hole home in Compton. She’s doing a great job. frick this city. 9:30 am in mid city by a 14 and 17 year old. They should just kill those two frickers now. There is no rehabilitation for those fricking pieces of shite. They will do this because there are no repercussions.

The sad thing is. Just one of these thugs gets roughed up or shot by police and people will protest and burn buildings.
Yet no one protests the crime.
