So people who said he made it up (he did) are homophobes for being right? Try to reply with something other than calling me a homophobe.
he doesn't even have to
you leave no doubt about it

This is the most bizarre thread I've seen her in a long time.
I was in broadcasting for a few years back in the late 70s and early 80s. So long ago we literally played records.
Listeners would sometimes become attached; they would call a lot or come by the station to visit. They felt like they knew you b/c they listened a lot, especially if they were girls/women. Sometimes relationships would form. I knew guys that even married some of these girls.
I think Seth had fans, as evidenced by some the responses in this thread.
Hard to justify at any level what he did and his Brees diatribe played into it, IMO.
Just a weird deal all-around, and yes his career is over in a major market, if not altogether.

Was “Play Misty For Me” an office favorite film?

It’s not a coincidence that the people who called him a liar also still openly use the word f@g
I absolutely call my friends figs when they do faggy things. Doesn't mean I hate gay people. I can know this guy lied from the second the first report came out and still call friends figs.

I was actually gonna reference that, but I figured no one would get it.
Sometimes there were issues...

You may not hate them but you surely don’t respect them
What is a “faggy thing” and why is it negative? You’re being derogatory but of course you don’t see that
Like the guy last night when asked if he’d say “f@g” to someone’s face... he asked for clarification on what the scenario was? Lmao. Wut?

who set up the poly? Was it Dunlap's group? if so, they can control "the polygraph"
remember Christine Blasey Ford and her "polygraph"? it was like 2 questions of nothingburger word soup

this is one reason why they're not admissible. "passing a polygraph" doesn't mean anything specific
I get all of this. Not in question.
My question was if the lawyer got him to take a lie detector as some sort of vetting process.

Of course I see that. I don't say it to friends to be nice. Would I say it to someone's face I didn't know? Absolutely not.

HA
No. I can 100% guarantee you that this is not the case at all.
They did this AFTER the meeting with defense lawyers who accused him of it to get ahead of it in a press release.

Seth has a mental illness, but we already knew that.
Calling himself a fig via his employers Twitter page was the icing on the cake.
I hope he gets the help that he needs.
Maybe a little bit a Jesus in his life will cure him of his sickness.

Bill Burr has an excellent stand up clip on this. I highly suggest everyone watch it for a good laugh
Here’s an excerpt:
quote:
It took me four trips to go to the supermarket to finally be able to buy this goddamned pumpkin, because every time I would walk in there to get it, I’d be thinking all these happy thoughts. “This is a great thing. I’m embracing the holidays. It’s gonna bring me and my girlfriend together. This is a very loving thing to do.” And I reach out and grab it, and all I hear in the back of my head is, “what are you, a fig?.” And then immediately, I had to turn around and walk out.
This is how it works with guys. Any time you do anything remotely sensitive, heartwarming, anything that’s gonna make you more of a loving, caring individual, immediately, all your guy friends suggest that maybe, just maybe, you want to suck a dick. Oh, it’s brutal. Even if you do something smart, right, like it’s raining out. “He’s got an umbrella. What a fig. Oh, my God. What, are you afraid of the water? Put your shoulders up, you frickin’ homo. Jesus Christ

That’s honestly one of my favorite clips of his. Bill Burr is basically the OT spokesperson

I was listening to his podcast when I made that comment hoping someone would pick it up...on to a podcast with Coco Diez now...
ETA: Louis C.K. has a pretty good one too.

Jordy sat there and allowed those two to bash Drew Brees of all people for having the audacity to support "Bring a Bible to School" day. Someone needed to be willing to stand up. I lost a lot of respect for Jordy that day.
It's Michael Jackson. The man sang Thriller. Thriller, bro!
It's Drew Brees. The man won a Super Bowl. A Super Bowl in New Orleans ,bro.

I thought he was a good sports guy, had a good show. You always knew he was a SJW but he seemed to keep it in check. I guess he knew his audience.
I think we went overboard with his Brees rant... but I didn't think it was some hot, new take. A lot of people earlier that day had been saying the same things. He just ran with it... it wasn't original criticism.
And when he did out himself, I think most sports fans here said, "Meh" and we went on with our lives, because again, he had a pretty good show.
Never thought it would be a precursor to all of this.

I suspect, possibly, this guy started getting a pretty big cold shoulder from those in and around the Saints org and elsewhere around town based on his goofy hitjob with regard to Brees' innocent little deal and figured this would be his "out" from New Orleans. It wasn't so much that he intended to do this from the get-go, but he put himself in a situation where this appeared a good option to resolve it.
Not a bad take. I don't think (at this point at least) that this was some long-range plan.
I am sure the WWL - Saints partnership is very profitable for both sides, and having one of your show hosts, essentially call the star QB a homophone - especially one with a history of good works in this community - I am sure hit some nerves.
I am sure he got some pressure. But... he wasn't on the Saints beat per se. So I don't think it's a situation where people just stopped talking to him... most of his information came second hand anyways.

Agree with all you said, and the times I heard him, I never picked up on anything that was too SJW-ish.
We all overlooked the most obvious motive in the world for most crimes (b/c we didn't know all the facts):
He did it to get money.
