disappointing
Disappointing b/c WWL finally hired a guy with actual broadcasting experience to run a sports program instead of guys that just hung around the station.
The other media chiming in acting all butthurt is just ridiculous.
I don't really know how anyone can listen to WWL on a consistent basis; the 48 minutes of commercials per hour is a killer.
Satellite radio is well worth paying for, just for the sports content alone.

They are having to all but give away the ads so they have to sell a lot to keep on the lights. If they did not have the Saints they would be in the toilet. A 5.5 average share of listeners in the 49th ranked market does not draw the big bucks for ads outside of Saints and LSU games.
And you do not have to pay for satellite to get decent sports radio. There a lot of streaming shows available for free.

Understood.
I like moving the chains with Jim and Pat. That way, I know more than Chad and Lester on Saints Talk.

WWL has rested on their laurels for 30 years because they have the Saints.
The programs they put out are awful. If they put our high caliber sports programming with actual professionals (re: not Bobby) then they could dominate.

Because for years they put on "professionals" like Hap and Buddy? And intelligent programming like "buy my opinion" Garland Robinette's show? Their demise is more to the other choices out there rather than terrestial radio.

Everyone has a phone. Who the frick logs into twitter on someone else's computer?
Well it wasn't from a computer. It came from an iPhone like it says in the tweet. Even if the password is changed (which it was less than a month ago) you still stay logged in as long as you don't log out.

so who has the log-in credentials to WWL's official twitter account? are you suggesting that someone who does have those credentials left his iphone lying around while logged in? with no security password to even access the phone?
is this gonna be another "mrs colangelo did it"?
the story made deadspin early this morning

Who the hell heard of Seth Dunlap before the tweet? He made his little bullshite post deriding Brees that barely anyone gave a F about and almost immediately faded, then the fig tweet, now he’s getting plenty of free attention and even sympathy.
I mean cmon. It’s obvious.

dont go thru life like this...it aint worth it.
i think we can surmise with nearly 100% certainly that seth dunlap did not call himself a fig over his employer's official twitter account in order to garner attention

Many people had heard of him. He was probably the best voice and presence WWL had in terms of sports. Would be classic for the station to run him off over something like this.

Haven’t heard Tom’s food show in a while on Saturdays. I hope he comes back on soon.

And that French guy would never have hired two guys to beat him up. Not saying Seth did it but it would NOT have been the first time.

So someone borrowed someone else’s iPhone to post from WWL’s account one time, didn’t log out, and then the owner of said phone calls Dunlap a fig

Here is something I consider odd.
If you look at a screenshot of the post, it is from an iphone. And then you look down and see that someone posted a response less than one minute after the WWL post. That seems odd to me. Who is watching the WWL radio twitter response feed THAT closely to read and respond that quickly? And the twitter account that replied belongs to an attorney in Houston.
