Is there any meaning to the fact the check mark in the offensive tweet is white/gray vs the blue verified check in the apology?

It's just a background setting. You can choose white/bright or night mode.

Has the internal investigation found the culprit yet? I’m sure you could put the ex sheriff on the case

@sethdunlap I will be taking a leave of absence from my shows at WWL effective immediately. I informed the station of my decision earlier this afternoon. This decision was deeply personal and certainly not easy to make. I need to do what's best for me and also what I feel is right.

Thanks to the many people inside and outside the organization who have shown their support over the past couple of days. There are many people working at WWL and Entercom who are wonderful people, and have been unfairly swept up in this.

Most importantly, to all of the LGBTQ+ people out there please know that your voices are being heard. I have tried hard to not make this about me because, truthfully, it's not. It's about a culture of hate and bigotry that has proliferated recently in our society.

I look forward to speaking more about this incident soon. Don't worry, I'm not going away. I am just taking time to decide what's best for my career, but also for my life away the microphone.

clearly he's been getting some ugly pushback around that station over and above the twitter slur the other day. in hindsight, his "open letter" to drew brees might not have been the wisest career move

I'm more convinced now that he did it himself to garner publicity. Why not let the disciplinary/investigative process proceed and keep doing your show if the work were really important to you? Taking a leave of absence is half arse and pretty self-centered, if he's really uncomfortable in his work environment he should say so publicly and quit, demanding appropriate redress and an apology at the same time.

Sounds like the open letter was the first step (just like Kaepernick quitting because he knew he couldn't hack it and was about to be fired) in a process to springboard to SJW media fame.

Quitting in concert with another open letter to Entercom for fostering this kind of work environment would be respectable and probably what WWL deserves. This leave of absence seems contrived to further his career.

That's not an F-bomb. It's a homophobic slur most likely posted by a white cis gender privileged narcissist. In reality, the poster probably jerks tranny porn
