PR guy wants to make sure everyone knows Kailas is the good guy. Apparently Kailas is paying for the police and fire support. Paying for the logistics. Quit being racist to him. This building was intended to save that corner. Hired reputable contractors. This is going to take more time.
My guess is Kallais got in bed with a cheap GC here, and ulitmately, it's the GC that's going to be nailed.
Kallais might be in some trouble if it turns out he went cheap on hiring an engineer, IF he did it and not the GC.
But none of this changes the fact that he is a POS who makes our city worse, not better.

Ole rebel thought he had some smoking gun gotcha with that.

After listening to this, does anyone think it served the developers at all? It seemed purposeless.

Is this the engineer firm?

everything i've read about Cailas leads me to believe he is a POS, as is his entire family.

Heaslip has a pretty good reputation in the area from what I can understand
Still think that the cement did not have enough time to cure properly.

I would put the likelihood in that order too.

Wasn't aware. Didn't listen to it and was just going off the cliffnotes posted in the thread.

This will take forever to settle for family, local businesses, the city, insurance, ownership, contractors, suppliers, etc.
And the two “souls on board” will just rot away while all this bickering continues.
I feel for the families that are still waiting to bury their family members.
Sad that there is absolutely no sense of urgency.

What are you basing this statement on?

How do you figure they are going to get the bodies out of the next step is to implode the building?

Cement is one of the main items needed to make concrete, fwiw.
It doesn't matter what the compressive strength of the concrete is if it is suspended without the proper foundation supporting it. In this case, the foundation for the suspended concrete decks was the temporary shoring (reshores) until the load-bearing members were in place.
The main question that needs answering on this is WHO decided it was time to remove the reshores from the underside of the concrete decks that are now dangling from the structure prior to the load-bearing metal stud members were in place. Once this is confirmed, the entity at fault will be identified.

Looks like just the Kailas controlled or linked entities on that one report gave about $30,000 to the Cantrell campaign. He has hundreds of entities filed with the state though so I'm sure I am missing a lot.
