Do you know if there’s a bond in place?

Yes, I believe Travelers bonded it.

Generally, any project of this size and scope would be bonded.

The rep yesterday said that insurance was paying for the path forward, not sure which insurance.

Also said Kailas was paying the city for NOPD/NOFD out of his personal pocket.

Latoya just said Berkshire was the insurer. She also made sure to point out that this is all on 1031 Canal, and then made a comment about how she is a "community organizer at heart" and she "hears the voices of the people". Sounds like the insurer calling all the shots.

And he'll likely be reimbursed by the LLC or insurance proceeds.

She straight up said..." This is all on the owner which is 1031 Canal...that's who's responsible"

It has to do with business & legal protections that the state of Delaware offers for incorporation. Most sophisticated business owners domesticate their companies in Delaware, Nevada, or Wyoming.

Think there's a tax advantage.

Regardless, let's stay on point here.

How long do you think Latoya vs. Helena would last (in seconds)?

I assume there is a tax loophole by registering your company in Delaware.
