You can also be glad there’s a vaccine, glad people are getting it, and not get it yourself because you don’t need it.

Everything isn’t so black and white one way street that everyone wants to make everything these days.

The anti-vaxx trope is tired.

Kill JBE? Other than that, I've never heard a single metric that will end the restrictions. Is it a new case number? Is it a hospitalization number? Is it a vent number? Is it a percentage of vaccinations number? No one has told the public what the current goal is.

Public health is pseudoscience. These people haven't the first clue what they are doing.

It is literally the reason I give every year at my physical to my Nurse Practitioner. She asks every year if I'm going to get a flu shot. I tell her every year there is no reason to get one. It's not a deadly or debilitating illness. And the Chinese Flu is no different than any other annual iteration of the flu.

The flu virus is to protect against specific strains of flu, and is less than 50% effective. It hasn't protected others, as i have gotten the flu 3 of the last 4 years.

eradicate? probably not

greatly reduce the spread? absolutely

and the chances that we will have a combo vaccine for COVID and the flu in the future are pretty high

sorry for thinking vaccines are a good thing, crazy I know

I'm sure some have. I don't argue against people getting the vaccine if they think they need it. My 74 year old mom, no pics, got it. She's doing fine. I just don't feel the need to get it myself. I'm not exactly against getting it myself, it's just not high on my list of priorities.

While the vaccine prevents hospitalization among certain people, It's not greatly effective at preventing the flu.

This, pretty much. I will wait it out for a little while, just to see if there are any long-term concerns. I'm at next to no risk, and I've already had it, so my desire to jump at the next opportunity for a jab is pretty small.

I made my mom get it, though.
