I like it that my two alma maters are ranked 1 and 2 in the state but how can Tulane be ranked behind Xavier?
Unless a vote was taken on the Rant.

Can you list the WSJ rankings of the SEC? I can't open the link. Thanks

That's absurd.

Still, at this point Tulane would be closer to a middle of the pack SEC school academically than a clear second to Vandy as someone suggested here. Also, I'm guessing only a handful of students there are paying anything close to full $80k tuition.

There is a reason the universities themselves only care about, and react to, the US News rankings.

This WSJ list is pure ridiculous clickbait, unless you are fricking retarded enough to think that Caremont McKenna is truly superior to MIT.

The entire notion of mass-market publications ranking colleges is and has always been absurd. It's probably not a coincidence that the rise to prominence of the USNWR rankings in particular has coincided with the decline of the Yankee Empire as a society and as a great power.

I'd much rather go to Claremont-McKenna, but IDK how much weight that should carry

UF is 83 on that list. I think they are confusing the school with the football program. No way I'm buying that it's that far down.

I bet if you throw in cost of living(job location) as a factor LSU would be in the top 100.

LSU is relatively inexpensive and still get a high technical degree with a nice paying entry level job in state or a surrounding state.

But if we’re speaking purely from an academic performance standpoint, Tulane is miles ahead of every SEC school besides Vanderbilt and it’s not even close.

Florida and Texas are just as good as Tulane. UGA probably isn’t too far away as well.

Don't hate me for it, but add Aggie to that short list as well. They might be weird, but you can't argue with their rankings in academics.

Considering they gutted their engineering program, it's hard to see they made it that high.

Yep. A degree has to be a means to professional school or a direct path to a job

Most college degrees arent that.

It's a terrible investment otherwise.

True...at least until Atlanta and the Texas cities become very expensive. That will happen one day. Those are major destinations for LSU's graduates.

A&M should be proud. They are an incredibly high achieving cult.
