Daily watch threads on the watch forums are more interesting... Always surprised at the amount Rolex (Sub/GMT in particular) wearers posting wrist shots in thier Honda Civics and Ford Focus.

Timex Ironman.
But I'm interested in a GADA ("go anywhere, do anything") diver style if anyone has recs. Preferably under $500. I like the Seiko mini turtle thus far.

Great looking watch, but I'll never own one without a quickset date. My wife has one similar and it's a pain in the arse when she asks me to set it for her

It really is. I usually don't bother with the date, but set it the other day for some reason. I am getting so blind I can't read it anyway.

I suspect that is part of the reason why Rolex starting making the Sub very hard to get (at least new). They didn't want their brand image being diminished by $30k "millionaires" walking around wearing a Rolex.
(Disclaimer: I'm not saying I agree with that approach. If you can afford the ticket price on the Sub why shouldn't you be allowed to buy it? But when name recognition and image are the single biggest factor in allowing you to charge a significant premium for your product, I can see the basis for not wanting brokedicks to be seen wearing your product)

I don't wear a watch much now that I carry a phone. When I have to dress up the watch I wear is a western style watch called Montana Silversmith.

Good-looking omega. Sorta reminds me of an IWC pilot I saw. I'd like it on a black band though.
