I do it. Its not fun, but I've been doing it for 8 or so years. I still don't understand people that say they like the time because it allows them time to decompress.....

F that, If it were me, I would decompress my happy arse on the couch after a 5 minute commute if it were possible.

Been doing it for 19 years. Lived 7 miles from the office in one city, 12 miles in another and now I live 43 miles away. All took an hour. I could move closer to save about 25 minutes each way, but I’d have half the house, 1/30th of the land and about 6k more in property taxes.

Do it every day Tickfaw to Geismar. If I didn’t have a company truck and gas card , I absolutely wouldn’t do it!

I'm not sure where you live but the average commute in North Texas DFW is 45 minutes, my office is 27 miles but took 45 min to an hour each way.

I work from home now but commuted for 20 years.

You do what you have to do.

I’m 17 minutes and would move closer if wife’s work and kids school weren’t 5 minutes

Can’t beat coming home for lunch

That's about mine. I'm 15 minutes but my wife's work and kid's school are both about 2 miles away.

My drive is typically about 30 minutes or so in wonderful Baton Rouge traffic 5 days a week, which is more than enough for me.
There are several women in my company that drive 45 minutes to an hour one way, and my hats off to them. I understand why they do this... they live in parts of Louisiana that don’t offer good paying jobs with benefits, that are available in BR.
Be thankful for what you have - Happy Holidays all!

Not only did I do it, but I did it when the I-10 expansion from the split to Highland was going on several years ago and I lived off Highland. In the mornings, it was that construction zone, across BR, the bridge, and the basin, then Lafayette traffic. In the afternoons, it was Lafayette traffic, the basin, the bridge, across BR, and then the construction zone.

I'd leave home at 5 am to miss traffic and I'd leave work about 6:30 to miss traffic. About an hour fifteen each way.

Every.
fricking.
Day.

I goddamned hated it and only did it until something better opened up closer to home.

Currently doing 45-50. It’s not bad, but I would rather it be 25-30. I like a little drive, but during planting and harvest, the long drives aren’t as nice.
