Would you rather stay at home for work or go back to the office?

Now that I’ve been given 8 weeks of working from home, I’d rather stay here. Working front home has exploited so many benefits. No commute, no getting ready, my own bathroom, my own fridge, television, a couch, and more. The best is the flexibility to work at any moment instead of being confined to 5 eight hour windows, when frankly there may be a time I don’t want to do anything.

Thus, I’m against plans to STEEPEN THE CURVE.

Like most things, the answer is in the middle. The answer is flexibility for both employer and employee. The conversations in the media (etc) is always the extremes. We are all working from home now! Or it'll go back exactly like it was! Nope. It'll be in the middle.

Our office is currently having those discussions.

I'd rather go back to the office and get back into a routine.

Staying holed up in my 1br apartment has made me go stir crazy. I need to get out in order to function.

I wouldn't want to work from home full time. I need to get out of the house during the day. I could do it Monday and Friday or something like that.

I started working from home in April 2019, and I love it. I honestly don't think I could work in an office again. It's nice to go watch TV or something if I'm slow, run errands while others are at the office, put up laundry/dishes when I have free time.

Plus, even though its a pain in the butt to work with a toddler around, it is nice when he is sick or sent home from daycare to already be home and not have my husband and I scrambling to figure out who will stay with him.

I'm dying to get back to the office. I only have a 15 minute commute and I like being around co-workers.

I also like being able to walk out of my building and have hundreds of bars and restaurants within an easy walk.

Back to the office. I get more work done when I'm away from home.

In fact, I go out of my way not to take work home.

We have a Town Hall at 2:00 to discuss this. We are a satellite office of about 30 people. The company as a whole has around 500 people. Headquarters is in Atlanta.

A benefit of a satellite office is things tend to be a little looser than a headquarters.

I think somewhere in the middle is right for me. I'm out in the field a good bit so I can get out. I think that having some office time that is dedicated to taking care of important things is good. I also think that I don't need to be at my desk everyday either.

I've never liked working from home. I like it even less now.

I’m the exact opposite. There would be times where after sitting behind a desk for so many hours would just put me to sleep. Don’t have that issue at home. Also I’m 100% more likely to work at odd times, like at night or on weekends.

Never stopped going to the office. Work at home just not for me. Need the discipline of the office. Never missed a day of work during this crap either. And the lack of distraction made April our most profitable MTD.

I love it. Granted, I’m a lawyer and already did a lot of work at home, but not having an office to physically go to has been great.

My wife however wants me to gtfo...

Yeah, count me in the I’d rather stay and work from home pain train. I think I’m going to pitch it when we go back, and I think I might be able to get it approved other than the times that I have to go out of town for work.
