Texas. Not exactly a difficult decision, even though Texas sucks

Maybe, but at least those "women" aren't giving their brother's "Rocky Top" like in Tennessee

Texas easy.
The hill country is great and Austin has unreal amounts of things to do.

Has everyone actually been to both areas?

I think it is clearly Tennessee. Anyone bringing academics into it is just dumb. The schools are not opening bigger doors for graduates of either university.

Have any of you, from the east, ever driven to the so-called Hill Country?

After living in Virginia and east Tennessee, I worked in Texas and had a business trip to Austin. People there all said "You've got to see our Hill Country." So I got a map from my hotel, and drove west. And drove and drove, and I kept looking for the hills. Finally pulled over and got the map out. Low and behold, I was at the H in the Hill Country label. All those scrawny trees and dead grass and indentations in the landscape WERE the famous hills. My home in Virginia was (by their definition) on a hill, we just would say we're going down to the meadow to weed the garden, we really didn't think of it as a hill. We had some inclines that were good for snow sledding, but there was nothing that steep west of Austin.

Hill Country? Bah. Humbug.

Politics aside, Texas is the better school.

I’d rather be closer to real mountains, so Texas wins. Also as a college kid, I’d rather be in Austin than Knoxville
