I know two guys that did this as a sign of “progress”. Awful

I would only do it, if she were famous, and had an established name that is branded. Outside of that, only my name, or no marriage.

Would rather her just keep her name. Hyphenating is more of an insult to me

I came from a culture that has no concept of family names. Hell, some people only go by one name (no last name). My sibling, father, and mother don't have the same last name; so I would have no issues.

Here is a little secret....in Louisiana marriage does not change the name of the wife. Actually marriage just gives either spoons or both spouses the right to use one another's names

That's not terrible. Some women make the man take her last name.

What is the backstory on this pic?
Have seen it used a lot lately on the OT

Doesn’t matter. She can do whatever she wants. It’s her name.

I wouldn't be attracted to women who would want to hyphenate their name.

If her last name is notable enough to directly result in cash in my pocket or some other benefit, then maybe. Otherwise frick that hyphenated whore.

My cousin married that exactly and his life is miserable.

Agree
Plus what happens when the hyphenated names kids marry other hyphenated names kids and they want to hyphenate? Now we get 4 last names?
And it's not like you can say we are having dinner at the Browns house tonight or going out with the Smiths family.
Just marry the guy and take his name.

If she were Latina. That’s kind of what they do. Maybe not hyphenated but with both last names included.

Mine did, but we got married in our 40s and she is very established in her field.

She can keep her own or take mine. I couldn't be married to someone who inconvenienced everyone by making their name harder/longer to spell than it needed to be.
This.

My wife legally kept her last name in front on mine. But it's not hyphenated and she only goes by mine.
Have to use it when filling taxes and shite though

I didn't care if my wife took my name or not, but she wanted to take it.
Of course I'm hoping my daughter will keep her name, because frick whomever she ends up marrying.
