I did. We just went down to the courthouse. It wasn't meant as a slight against anyone, just worked out that way

My wife and I started planning a wedding, realized how much it was going to cost and decided not to have one. We were saving for our first house and the Vegas wedding was way cheaper

Cousin did this. His family and her family didn’t get along very well. They tried to have get-togethers but it always devolved into a shitstorm over politics. He and his bride didn’t want a shitshow so they went up to the mountains in Wyoming on their own and had a nice wedding.

They have parental consent. Hell, they have the consent of everyone who knows them. Both are extremely stand-up people with great jobs, very intelligent, and extremely generous. Great people. I just can't figure out why they don't want their parents there. They've actually told them they don't want them there. And it's not like they have a bad relationship with them; they have a fantastic relationship with the parents.

Maybe they're nudists?

pics?

She was like 70. We don't have any pics.

We went to downtown Vegas to scout for a place and there was a wreck with fatalities on the way back so we were stuck downtown all day. We just got married while we were down there.

I was in a tshirt and shorts. My wife had some halter top with no bra

I lucked out because my wife's sister was planning a wedding at the same time and it was a giant Bridezilla ordeal. My wife took one look at that and suggested we just went down to the courthouse which was fine by me.

I pretty much did...only immediate family and a couple friends. I hate extravagant, over the top weddings.
Married in a Catholic Church, tiny reception at my sister's new house and hopped on a plane to Jamaica with my bride, a few friends and partied our asses off for 10 days.

I have a 2 friends (relax guy and girl) no pics, that did this. I may have been the first to know as I ran into them the day after. Didnt tell their family for a few weeks. They were together for years though and are private people

No pics exist baw. My wife was cool getting married right then but she didn't want pics because we weren't dressed up.

Those parents will never see their children get married and as a parent, I can say that's one of the biggest milestones you look forward to seeing your children accomplish.

Debatable. Most people today use their first marriage as a trial run to see if they like it.

Maybe they will be invited to the second one

I’m getting married in Greece in a few months without anyone but her. Then we’re coming home and doing the whole reception thing. Not that unusual.

Yep.

Running off to an island and just getting married sounds perfect.

If I'm paying, I'm going. If they pay for it on their own, they can invite (or not invite) whoever they want.

We basically did the courthouse thing. Then had a fairly sizeable reception that evening.

Saved a ton of money, had a great time meeting everyone. Then splurged on a huge honeymoon instead.

It was great, plus everyone got to eat and drink etc...

I did. We were both in our mid-30’s, wife said she is way past a wedding. We went to Vegas and got married.

We had a big reception when we got back.

The wife and I got married in the garden at a local bed and breakfast. Us, two friends as witnesses and the pastor, that's it. Second marriage for both of us, we weren't doing no big church thing.

My oldest daughter had the traditional wedding. Planned for almost a year. My other two daughters went and got married with no one there but the bride and the groom. Had big party to celebrate later. I was okay with it, my husband questioned it a little. It worked out great. I’ve since seen grandchildren right after they were born. Never think about missing weddings.
