dumbass she worked with though he would splash her with water.
Except the water was the bun steam waterSo she ended up with some severe 2nd degree burns on her legs.
Not how those steamers work.
The water in them is room temp. It steams when you push a button, using an exact amount of water needed.
So someone is lying. Probably you or her.

“Corporate” is probably just a local franchisee, who no doubt carry worker’s comp insurance if you’re in AL. The manager maybe didn’t fill out an incident report and is now stringing you along
Contact the franchisees, this is a nothing burger for them

Stop it. We all know industry and insurance companies will always do the right thing regardless of the bottom line!

Some people can’t read for comprehension. Your daughter was hurt at work. Company said they would take care of you and you didnt want to overblow it. Now, it appears they did not do that and you are have consequences of their inaction. I applaud you for not being the guy to immediately sue, but it’s time for a lawyer.

This came out of Alabama state tax returns. For a state medical facility.

Generally speaking, if you find a lawyer to take a case over $200, he's not a very good lawyer.

Have a lawyer friend send him a letter on the firms letterhead. Sometimes, that's more than enough to get the job done.

Go the McDonalds coffee lady route, all she wanted was medical paid for and ended up with millions of when they didn’t help.
But $200?! Really going to get a lawyer for that?

$15 a month supplemental health ins policy through aflac or state farm would have made this whole scenario easier on yall

All these people saying the SOL is up aren’t necessarily correct. Children under 18 typically get extra time to their SOL (until their 18th birthday), but it varies by state.
This is also a WC claim and they are handled somewhat differently than a liability claim (like a customer slip and fall).

Looking back we probably should have spoke to a lawyer then, but we didn't want to make a huge deal of it and just wanted the company to pay for her medical bill and medication/treatment, etc.
Whenever someone is treated at an emergency room, they have a questionnaire they fill out that askes the question, "did this happen at work"...or something similar.
quote:
So of course they agreed to that and paid all the medication/treatment stuff and had us send them the emergency room bill.
They were by-passing their Worker's Compensation insurance to do this...and probably weren't recording it on their OSHA 200 log either.
Ultimately, if you are injured...tell the truth. If it happened at work, say so. You don't have to "talk to a lawyer" if someone is injured at work. If you engage a worker's comp case manager at the time, they will handle all of the billing and any associated recovery therapy (as well as incident costs incurred for treatment). The lawyer is not necessary if the employer is willing to do the right thing. If they aren't...there are laws against Work Comp fraud that can be pursued without engaging an attorney. Now...if the work comp carrier and the company aren't doing the right thing...that is the time to get an attorney involved.
In this case...if there is paperwork she signed saying it wasn't work related, and if it has been 2 years since the date of injury, I think you are SOL.
