If it puts you at the bottom of the higher tax bracket. Then you may consider it a wash because you will be paying more in taxew.

Just took a 20% cut to go back to a position I previously held, and am thrilled.
I prefer to work where I enjoy being.

Happened to me once. I took a job where I was paid much less, but I’d have a better work life balance. Best decision I’ve ever made, so no unless the job was awesome.

Unless, I'd have to work 6 or 7 days a week I would take the job.
Also, try to leverage the offer for a raise at your current job.

Depends on your mentality. Im fine making less to work less hours. I hate working weekends

Would you change jobs for $24K more per year?
My wife just did this, came with a $25K raise. Got her laptop in the mail today, starts on Monday.

That is the thing.
3½ years ago I took a huge cut in pay...more than the $24K. Just got tired of 60-70 hour weeks.
I can get some of the money back and work maybe 50 hours. Now it is very rare for me to work more than 40.
Just not sure that 10 hours extra is worth the money.

You go from roughly $4,000 a month take home to $5,300. That is pretty substantial

Time is more important than money. Always.

So you're a fry cook and got offered the manager position at McDs? Of course, take it.

10 extra hours a week is certainly worth 24k

Works out to about $46 for each extra hour worked, before withholdings. Depends on whether you value your free time more than that.
FWIW, your current effective hourly rate is about $33, and the overall average projected hourly rate at the new salary and hours would be about $35.

Yeah, not sure anyone here can give you advice on that.

Depends on how much you value your free time. It may not be to him.

I probably wood if it was the same job. I work solo 90% of the time anyway

It kind of depends on where you’re at with your career. If your young and trying to climb the ladder, it honestly makes more sense (in my mind) to find those jobs with long hours but more responsibility and ability to make a name for yourself. I graduated 5 years ago, and my salary has increased 60k doing that.
I made shite to start to start out with, but I was able to recently take a cush job that still pays decent because of that upfront work I did. And 5 years isn’t a lot, but 3 of those years were 80 hour weeks playing both estimator and PM for a theming company. In that time, I was able to get a good name in my industry which led me to the easy street today.
