I would absolutely jump at the opportunity.

But then again I'm an OT poor. I don't make 50k yet.

The original post didn’t specify 35% increase. If so, yes. It’s a game changer.

For myself, $24k isn’t motivation.

how about 70k to 115k but travel all over USA... from not traveling at all. but... the travel would be ONLY M-F with most of it I fly to meeting, fly back same day.

no wife or kids. and move from Gonzales to atlanta.

what says the OT?

Maybe take this as a lesson to read the whole thread, rather than just the OP?

You just gotta pick; often there's no wrong answer. I turned down a job last year that would triple my salary (which isn't a bad salary), and I just couldn't do it. Was a wreck while deciding, but content now--as you said "money isn't everything."

My time is valuable, and I get to the point.

I am not obligated to consider all subsequent posts.

I think that heavily depends on your industry. Like mine, I do theme park construction. It would make zero sense for me to take a travel PM/Super job if I want to continue in my industry, as it’s all about who you know in the market. If traveling though expands your client base and leads to future opportunities, you go for it (if single and no kids). When you come to a potential new job, if you’re younger, you always need to think about how this potential new job will set you up for the next 10 years.

But apparently you do anyway. So why not do it before posting?

It's similar, its PM for fitness centers around country.
The company itself is expending rapidly but is only about 30ish people right now. I see a lot of potential for growth. but I'm not an expert

This will get buried, but $24k for myself is hard to pass up, even if I hate the job. Right now I live a comfortable life, play within my means, have money in savings etc. But an extra 2k a month would be amazing. It would allow me to pay my home off quicker by a few years, as well as open additional investing opportunities. I couldn't pass it up.

You may be more experienced in construction than myself. But I have found that unless it’s a major GC like your PCLs, Balfour, etc, traveling for construction is purely a money now thing and not a long term solution. Lots of contractors here in Central Fl care less about your experience and more about your connections and what clients/vendors/local presence you have. But that’s more for PMs and estimators. For supers, I imagine career wise, you are searching for the large and more complex projects possible to put on your resume.

ETA: just as an example, one of my friends was a Cost Control manager for PCL. They were taught it’s all about your personal brand and the connections your bring. While it’s now with a division 10 sub, he went from cost control manager to CEO of one of the bigger subs. Hasn’t even turned 30 yet.

Only reason to go to work is for a paycheck. Make the most you can

Not the easiest question for you to answer without being in the job, but if you had it and the pay, consider how bad it'd have to be to want to give up $24k to go to what you have now. Would you do it?

But yeah there's more to it than just the pay. I gave up a little more than that to go from working in an office 50-60 hours per week with about two weeks vacation to splitting work between home and office 40 hours per week with four weeks vacation.

That’s the thing it’s not a construction company. It’s the corporate that owns the locations or guides franchisees. They take shortlist bids from GCs who will do the work. I’d be basically an owners rep . Although then title is PM

Oh, that’s completely different. I’m client side myself now. Managing a nation wide portfolio for a client will be great for future career growth. It’s still about your endgame, but that kind of opportunity can only be beneficial.

I recommend too keeping your own personal excel file of not just your contractors, but their subs too. My list is now about 700 different vendors. Sucks trying to update once a week, but will pay off huge once I go back to a GC or sub.

If your company respects you and you are one of there best employees they will match that offer from the other company and you won’t have to leave. Depends on how they appreciate your work
