Depends on the condition, trim level, etc. 4Runner is a solid vehicle, but they don't have a lot of features. A 2015 model wouldn't even have CarPlay, blind spot monitor, etc.
Everything is expensive these days. Used Silverados and Sierras with 100K + miles are still pushing $30K or more. Blows my mind until I realize that the new ones are stupid expensive.

Being completely serious, if you have better options for a used SUV for around $25k I would love to hear them. I'm just starting my search.
If you do not need to go off road....check out a Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander. They are known for being very reliable, but are better on gas than the 4Runner.
A used Subaru Outback that was owned/operated south of I-40 is probably another good alternative. They tend to burn oil, but they are solid vehicles.

I wouldn't say poor, but I also don't wanna pay $45k for a new vehicle. My truck has been a pain in the arse so I'm looking for something that will be less of a pain in the arse. It's likely either a higher milage 4Runner or a Lesser milage of another brand. Just looking for some feedback.
I've never owned a 4Runner, but my mechanic has one that his wife drives. I think she has well over 200k on it and loves it. Says it is extremely reliable. I haven't priced 4Runners, so I don't know about the price, but if it's been taken care of, it should be a very reliable vehicle for you.
(I have an 1st gen Tundra going on 340k. Hoping to get 500k on it.)

1 other thing about them is the parts are absolutely dirt cheap. The reason they are so high is that most other vehicles are not even close to being as reliable.

Everything is insane. That's a about right range on price.
I loved mine. 2016 TRD OR, bought with 12k miles on it for 32k, drove until 2020 and 60k miles- had to sell due to divorce. Sold for 34k.

why did you leave this part out of the quote?
Because my point was Toyota 4Runners hold their value in general.
The question was why are things so expensive, my point was because it is a Toyota 4Runner. At least this product is worth it.
What are you getting at?

Saw a 2001 SR5, in great shape, with 255,000 miles for $6k the other day. Actually thought that was a fair deal considering you prolly have another 50-100k miles left, as least.

This is why I don't buy cars often.
12 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee
19 year old Jeep Commander
19 year old Chevrolet chassis RV

Yeah I would like to not buy a vehicle so often. I was also looking at some Grand Cherokees as well. I could get a newer one with less mileage for around the same price. But the Toyota reliability obviously has a much better reputation than Jeep.

Offer $16K. And see if they counter offer with $18.5K. With $18.5K being your real target price. If they don't meet it then walk.

People think Jeep Wranglers and 4Runners are made of gold.

I was just asking because the average annual income of the OT is $350,000.00

So many people in this thread have zero idea what the used 4Runner market is.
If you don't buy it, it'll be gone in a few days. Prices are high, and firm.
