My truck has all that. I didn't really want it but that was the only way I could find one with Max Tow and 4wd.
An unexpected benefit was my insurance costs went down significantly with these features. I pay less on a 2021 F150 Lariat 4wd than I did for a 2014 Tundra 2wd.
I askes my agent, he said it was for the safety features.

No, I described where it helps you, the driver paying attention, from rearending someone.

Adaptive cruise is a must have for me on vehicles in the future. I love it, I can just putt putt in the right lane with the 18 wheelers without having to deal with the frustration of the vehicle in front of me changing speeds and me having to adjust to it.

Logically, a device that stops someone from hitting you would function the same if the role was reversed.

Not a big stretch to figure that one out.

I mean id buy a 95 excursion with a 7.3 if I could find a 4wd one with less than 100k miles but I can drive and don't need lane departure help. Lol you should change your username to something more appropriate. Like Pierre instead of Gaston

That’s why I started this thread…bought my son a car with none of these and after seeing him drive I question my decision. Wife has them all and then some.

None of my cars have any of these features. Once I had to have my car service at the dealership and they gave me a newer model car as a loan that had all these features. The only one I liked was lane departure warning. I found found about it while driving home late at night down a deserted 4 lane rural highway. At one point I started to drift close to the inside lane (I was driving in outside lane) and the warning system activated and started buzzing the driver's seat. Will the buzzing was tickling my taint in a most pleasing way, so I drove the rest of the way home with my left tires riding the lane marker. Best ride ever!

I have the Sonata. Pretty sure you can go in and change the distance setting so it doesn't go off as frequently. Mine will beep when I get pretty close to someone, but has almost never applied the breaks itself.

Really? I need to check that. I turned the breaking off after that post but didnt see where to adjust the distance.

You forgot heated steering wheel. Not safety related, but more useless crap you don't need.

Ah so you do see the usefulness of it for the responsible drivers on the road.

The bizarre part of that list is it is the exact list of features that are not offered on the manual transmission version, as compared to the auto, for the recent vehicle I bought for my son. I understand some of them, since they’re transmission related, but lane assist? Collision prevention…I mean who cares if the car stalls at that point?

And windshield replacement costs have skyrocketed due to “calibration”

I had my windshield replaced a couple weeks ago. Guy told me “calibration” was basically a scam. Haven’t had any issues with any of the features going off when they shouldn’t.

I'll even take a 5-speed.

I was the same way, and even owned several up until my late 20's. Then, I got lazy and started appreciating the convenience of an auto.

If one day I get a sportscar, I'll definitely shoot for a manual.

My wife's has adaptive cruise and highway driving assist. You have to keep hands on the wheel but the car practically drives itself. Amazing on long interstate drives.

I want to add remote start to my Jeep- it's a 2017 and doesn't have any of those features, and it's fine with me. No backup camera, no Nav screen, manual seats, etc. Adaptive cruise is OK, and blind spot monitoring is nice, but I don't want the rest of it, ESPECIALLY NOT auto shutoff. I predict that's going to be one of the things we look back on and say 'That was real dumb'

My daily 04 Silverado has none of those things...so I guess you cannot miss what you have never had.

Hopefully my Grenadier is delivered by 2025.

Too bad it will have that computerized shift-by-wire, mall cruiser automatic transmission instead of three pedals like it should.
