If you can stay alive just long enough, gentrification may well gain a foothold.

Broadmoor is a solid neighborhood. There’s a fair number of streets with sidewalks, large old shade trees, large backyards, relatively safe, etc. In my opinion, the only downsides to Broadmoor vs some other similar aged neighborhoods in EBR is convenience getting from Broadmoor to areas with lots of jobs. Florida Blvd tends to be heavily traffic-snarled around Cortana daily, and Sherwood Forest is always a shitshow. Thus, if your job is downtown, by LSU, or near the hospitals/mall, Broadmoor can be significantly less convenient to commute from than similar neighborhoods.

In my opinion, Broadmoor is a solid value neighborhood where large dated homes can be purchased for relatively cheap and remodeled for a LOT less than buying small modernized homes in the garden district/southdowns or new construction in P-ville or southeast BR.

When I was in junior high band we played at a competition at broadmoor high school and it was the most scared I had ever been in my life up to that point

Isn't flooding a bit of a concern on that main Goodwood stretch that goes through Broadmoor? Been a while since I've been in that area but call recall some June rains where cars were hydro locked and stalled out.

Yeah, I didn’t see you had already bought. That’s a good area too, by S Riveroaks, N park view, E Riveroaks. Big houses, great yards.

Can we get a 2024 yearly update? Mid-city houses suck. Above-ground ain’t for me. Goodwoods are overpriced. Southdown people are settled in for the next 30 years.

All of Baton Rouge is north Baton Rouge unless you buy a $650,000 house.

Still alot of families in B'moor. Relatively low crime and lots of sidewalks. Couple of parks. Generally the closer to Goodwood the better. Wouldn't want to be too close to Florida Blvd and those sketchy shopping centers/apartments.

Been here 31 years and never had a single incident. Know and love all my neighbors and not going anywhere.
what we have seen mostly as of late are several Spanish Town residents that have relocated here.

there is a 'Broadmoor' neighborhood in half the cities in Louisiana. Maybe try and be a bit more specific with your questions bozo

70808 is the best place to raise a family in BR. Southdowns, Kenilworth, Pollard, University Acres. Close to LSU, close to the hospitals. Priority zone for either Westdale or Mayfair magnet schools, and St. Jude and St. Aloysius are nearby Catholic schools depending on which part of the area you live.

BR Open Neighborhood Map
I know it's a weird bump/dead thread, but the Opendata map is very useful for looking at different areas of BR.

Was such a great area still seems nice when driving thru but not sure what it’s like at night. Airline Hwy lights would drive me crazy, but as far as the neighborhood, I would buy there if the house was something I wanted.

My son bought in Broadmoor a couple years ago and sends his daughter to Broadmoor Elementary. It is a decent neighborhood. They haven't had any crime, but a dog ate one of his chickens.
