Depends on age of child.

I had a buddy whose little daughter who called every adult male who wasn't her dad "Paw Paw". Just how the kid processed adult males she trusted who weren't her dad.

I felt bad for her actual paw paw who was very much in her life. But he was 55-60 at the time and secure. He laughed and gave zero fricks.

What's also trashy are the men who are perfectly ok with another man's children calling him dad.

I call my stepdad "daddy" but they got married when I was a little over four. Real father sent child support like clock work but other than a random visit here and there he wasn't part of my life. After years of marriage, she was pregnant with me and he decided he didn't want a wife and child. He doesn't DESERVE to be called dad.

"Stepdad" is the one who raised me, punished me when needed, supported me, helped with homework, toted me around when mom couldn't ... He's my daddy!

They both walked me down the aisle out of courtesy to real father but I kissed my "daddy" last.

I'm not even sure how I'll feel when my real father dies.

Eta: sorry I went off on a tangent. Your situation while the dad is in child's life is wrong.

Even though not 100% relevant to the op scenario, it was still a good point to bring up. It shows done great to the overall issue.

If the dad's involved, and a stepdad comes along, then a nickname is fine, but not dad. If it's just boyfriends, like in the op scenario, it's screwed up. Maybe if it's a boyfriend of a couple years, then maybe a nickname, but still not dad.

To have multiple boyfriends over the years, and have their kid call them dad is fricked up, and probably bad for the child's emotions. Thats the kind of stuff that can lead to abandonment issues.

Nope.

There is a reason they call her "My daughter".

I do get it if a step-dad raised the child with an absent dad. Having a child call a boyfriend dad while the dad is in the picture is 1975 single-wide trashy.

I call my step dad daddy, but my step sister calls my mom by her first name. My father is deceased and my step sister's mom is not. My mom and step dad have been married 40+ years. My brothers step kids call him by his first name.

Your few friends are low class sluts. No wonder they are single.

Poor kids.

I call my stepdad dad. He raised me since I was 3 with my mom. My dad is still in my life but worked all over the country, he got remarried and spent more time with his knew wife and my half sisters.

Butthurt.

Back then, women were able to be total pieces of shot to get paid. Your mom was probably a total bitch when he tried to see you and he had a life to continue.

Depends:

I'm dead, my wife has moved on and found an awesome guy who treats my daughters wonderfully.

SURE

Wife and I split, my wife has moved on and found an awesome guy who treats my daughters wonderfully.

NO. And The new husband should respect that as well. He should correct my daughters if they do say that.
