I had this idea years ago; I thought it would be a great way to locate a missing person. Most people disagreed.

Most people here probably think I am trolling, but I truly don't get it. If law enforcement catching a murderer or locating a missing person meant me disclosing the most personal or embarrassing things about my life (although a tracking chip wouldn't really do that... but for the sake of argument I will just go to that extreme) to some random government official, I would do it.

Hell, just look at most of the personal and embarrssing shite people post on this board about themselves that they wouldn't want the world to know. To some government official in Astoria, Oregon, what the frick difference does it make if it's John Doe from Louisiana or LSU_Fan123 on Tigerdroppings admitting to sucking a dick out of curiousity while in college?

You should read The Gulag Archipelago. That way you can maybe understand how ambivalent governments are.

Like I said earlier-nope.

BUT

Make it a “Chips for Cash” and I can almost guarantee the police would be able to track down 99.9% of the offenders in crimes IF the infrastructure is in place to be able to track them.

Of course all those people would be a part of the inevitable class action law suit that would follow 10 years later for whatever infliction they caused.

The same people who x-ray your luggage and examine the personal items in it when you take it through an airport.

Would you be in favor of people having a type of chip implanted into them (let's say it cannot be tampered with or removed) that could be used to track anyone in the United States so that it can be determined who was at the scene when a significant crime (like murder or robbery) occurred

I'd like to be able to turn it off to the public when I want to like I do my snapchat location when I'm doing hoodrat shite I don't want my gf to know about.

But the NSA don't bother me. They don't care about my vices.
