No.
I turn my work phone off as soon as I’m off of work now. I use to have it on me as my primary 24/7 but ever since my company rolled out active Geo fencing I told them they lost that privilege. I’m back to my personal cell now and unless they’re going to pay me for standby, they can call that phone and I won’t answer.

Let me ask a similar question...
If the TSA had body scans that showed you completely nude to some official in a bunker in another state but it would be part of a system that would make it virtually impossible for someone to take a gun, bomb, knife, box cutter, or some other weapon onto a plane, would you be okay with it? Would you allow someone you will never meet to see images of your naked body for assurance that there would never be another incident of terrorism involving planes?
If someone you knew and liked were murdered, would you trade some anonymous person *maybe* knowing you stopped by for ice cream somewhere if it meant the killer would be identified and caught instead of getting away, never facing the consequences, and possibly murdering someone else?

This technology exists and allows every single American to be tracked with a high degree of geographic and temporal precision.
It's called a smartphone.
Most people don't realize that companies like Google and AT&T can literally create an entire map of your day to day routine. Where you're eating, shopping, what time you leave for work, where you work, etc.
Google receives requests from law enforcement agencies every day to unmask the data of individuals who were located near certain crimes.
The New York Times did an entire article on this exact topic.
quote:
The warrants, which draw on an enormous Google database employees call Sensorvault, turn the business of tracking cellphone users’ locations into a digital dragnet for law enforcement. In an era of ubiquitous data gathering by tech companies, it is just the latest example of how personal information — where you go, who your friends are, what you read, eat and watch, and when you do it — is being used for purposes many people never expected.

Once again, no one but a fricking retard is taking their smartphone with them when they go kill someone or rob a bank.

Mark of the beast imo
We are not the government's cattle to be branded and marked.

It's not just for those committing the crimes, but witnesses or any persons of interest as well. The point is, we're all being tracked 24/7. The only way to evade this is to turn your phone off or leave it at home, which almost no one will voluntarily do.
quote:
The new orders, sometimes called “geofence” warrants, specify an area and a time period, and Google gathers information from Sensorvault about the devices that were there. It labels them with anonymous ID numbers, and detectives look at locations and movement patterns to see if any appear relevant to the crime. Once they narrow the field to a few devices they think belong to suspects or witnesses, Google reveals the users’ names and other information.

It's funny.
Most of us have probably allowed a male doctor to touch and examine our anus or testicles for routine health reasons... but man, some anonymous person in a bunker far, far away maybe knowing you were at a restaurant Saturday night in order to help solve a murder, well, that's just too much. Can't do it.
That makes no fricking sense.

Just one. Do you wear a mask when you go out public? We can't have anyone know where we are now, can we?

What? Did they unrape the woman or child somehow or pay for her therapy? Did they pay back all that they stole from their victims? Did they resurrect those they murdered or manslaughtered? Did they pay restitution to the dead loved one's family? Did they pay the bills for the skull fractures they caused when they battered and bludgeoned the victim? No. They haven't paid shite. They simply spent some time in prison. That isn't paying their debt. They should be tracked if ever let out at all and their voting rights should not be restored.
Look at all these strawmen. A huge chunk of felons are nonviolent offenders
I bet you are a boomer too

Ya know, most of us have probably bought condoms at a convenience store, put cash between a stripper's tits, or been in a novelty shop. In all those situations, you faced a random, anonymous person (perhaps many) who saw you in a situation that might be considered embarrassing if publicly disclosed. And hell, there's always a chance you might bump into someone you actually know at such a place.
We're willing to confront strangers in situations like that just to see some tits, get our rocks off, or whatever the hell... but to aid law enforcement in apprehending murderers or deterring them in the first place?
Nah, it's too much.
I don't understand that. I really don't.

I had this idea years ago; I thought it would be a great way to locate a missing person. Most people disagreed.

Let me put it to you this way...
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
frick that, I’ll take my chances with the general population over the government any day of the week.
