This isn't the same country as in 2001

Wrong country. Right action.
China is actively fighting us in virtual and diplomatic theaters (nuke plant in Saudi Arabia)

Think back to not so long ago when our military took out that Iranian general on Trump's orders. CNN and their ilk paid homage to a blood-thirsty terrorist simply to avoid praising Trump's efforts. This terrorist POS was hailed as a gentleman and a scholar by most liberal media outlets. That should answer your question.

Yeah, as soon as I hit submit I realized I left off China.
China and Russia have been cyber attacking us for at least 10 years now in various ways. Nobody is united on even admitting it is happening, much less united on a proper response.

I guess I'm the odd one out here, because I say yes, well, mostly yes. I think there would be a very small group against it all as there is with any conflict, but most of us would pull together.
The people saying no in this thread are guilty of assuming the vocal minority are the majority, when they're not. There are a lot of people much closer to the middle than you care to admit. For some reason we've been divided into only two groups, which is asinine.

Yes.
Black people fought when they were legitimately segregated. If they could get over that, I think we’d find a way.

Nope. One side would blame the other side for the attack and then both sides would bitch perpetually.

Different time. Those were men and women. Not the adult children we have today

White Progressives do not have enough foresight or humility to take up arms with their countryman like segregated blacks did.
They will gladly cut off their nose to spite their face if it means Trump or the Right suffers.

We are in an informational/online/espionage war with Russia and China and have been for a while but nobody takes it seriously. If America declared war on somebody or the foreign threat was not clear, people would not unite, but if a foreign military launched an attack on the lower 48 I think everyone besides the extremists would unite.

The 2016 election map, the recent big10 decision to not play football while sec/acc/big 12 did, and almost all other maps show a division right along the Mason-Dixon Line of old.
We are a deeply divided country along social/religious/political issues and have been for centuries. We were forced to staying into the union by Lincoln and every so often have worked together against common enemies but really are two very diverse groups idealogically
The media and the radical left have worked to put their views into the mainstream which has only perpetuated

Would America unite if attacked by another country?

No. Democrats, Antifa and BLM would overtly and covertly assist the enemy. Half of the draft age kids in this country would refuse to serve.
Posted on 8/28/20 at 2:32 pm to cwarr14
No. Half the population would pull for the aggressors just to embarrass whoever is in the white house.
Posted on 8/28/20 at 2:33 pm to cwarr14
No. Trump has already managed to get Dems to defend China and North Korea. You think the Dems really care about this country enough to defend it?

I agree. I believe there is more common ground between Americans than what the media wants you to believe. People need to delete social media and turn off CNN, MSNBC, Fox News.

We weren't divided until it was used as precept to declare war on Iraq, who had no involvement in the 9/11 attacks.
