One of the most satisfying things I've ever done
Backstory:
When I was in HS I used to work for a dry cleaner in Metairie owned by a drunk and largely staffed angry middle aged women. One such angry count worked the press..... It was my first week and I didn't know shite about dry cleaning and no one trained me so I tagged shirts and sent them back.... Come to find out buttons are a bitch to undo when shirts are coated in the dry cleaning solution, thus annoying the woman working the press..honest mistake, but she proceeded to handle it by storming to the front register where I worked and screaming/cursing me out in front of customers. Calling me a stupid shite, a dumbass and frick me for wasting her fricking time etc etc.

Anyway..I held onto that job until the owner came in like she normally did sauced and with a massive 190 octane in hand at about 3 and cursed me out for not working a shift I was never scheduled for over the weekend. I decided then I was done. I didn't actually quit...I never said a word. I just decided that it was my last day. I spent every spare second that day and even stayed late after we closed finding every fricking shirt and buttoning ever button I could. I buttoned ever collar, cuff and shirt button I could fricking find. Took me a few hours to do and prob caused that bitch working the press to fricking stroke out.....I still chuckle thinking about the scene when she eventually unloaded those shirts

I worked for a major corporation for a bit and moved from one job to another within the company, but across divisions that often fought each other for resources.

Well, my old boss called my new boss and demanded I give them 2 MONTHS instead of 2 weeks. My new boss, who is a close friend now, told her to kick rocks. She walked out of her office after that phone call and basically tried to fire me, which she couldn’t because I had already taken a new promotion within the same company (and eventually became her peer). Told me to just leave immediately instead of 2 weeks and never spoke to me again.

It was so unbelievably childish. I would occasionally see her around work and just give a big smile and I could tell it just destroyed her on the inside. She was also the worst boss I’ve ever had, so many horror stories.

A young guy accepted a position at our company and worked for a few weeks. He took off one morning for a doctor's appointment but ended up being a job interview. Our owner is well known in our industry and got wind of it pretty quickly. The guy was unceremoniously fired and cried. Felt bad but he's an idiot.

He didn’t deserve to be fired over that. I would have looked around too.

Got a job working at a company selling security systems, they also supplied security personnel. First day, I'm supposed ride along with another guy for training. I get to the office and they are interrogating a security guy over some missing money. They had two guys basically yelling at him about the money, calling him a liar and a thief.

I get in the car with the other sales guy and we go on a couple of calls. He then pulls out a joint and asks if I mind if he smokes. I was pretty young I said OK. Worked the rest of the day and never came back.

Then, before she could even get a word in, I told her I quit. I quit during one of the busiest times in finance.

sounds like you fricked over your colleagues more than the company

Their name is WhuckFistle, checks out.

Company hired some kid to be my assistant because the PM liked his drafting skills, for a job that required none of that.

They didn't live up to their agreement with me on bonus/commission structure and walked the frick out. Made the company look real bad with Shell corporate. Management at corporate office called me and even had former regional manager call me to try to get me back for two weeks.

"You didn't keep your word was my answer to every call, then click."

Apartment on the beach in SoCal was one of my perks but SoCal was getting boring with their herd instinct.

Boss told me....frick that company and frick you, I said sorry you feel that away but since you do....I'll go ahead and get my stuff and leave. Started back tracking and asked that I stay. Drove in next day from Houston to see me just to get pissed again when I said he realistically couldn't offer me enough to stay.

I ended up staying like 5 more days cause I felt bad for my coworkers and he apologized and asked me too.

Lady I work with was telling me her bf started a new job delivering equipment and his first day on the job he's riding with his boss. The boss pulls over on the side of the road and gets out a crack pipe and starts hitting it before continuing to the pickup location.

The bf has him stop at a gas station to "use the bathroom" and he never comes back. Calls a friend to come pick him up

I was 2nd in charge at an O & G contractor, worked my way from office gopher to VP, 15 years in- got 10% ownership. Couple years later majority owner son quits college, comes to work for us in "Sales". Six months later, MO decides its time for his son to take over. Calls me in on a Friday afternoon and says
I now report to the kid and whatever he says, goes. Kid is a clueless idiot who has had everything handed to him. I stew over this BS all weekend, go in Monday morning and walk into the MO office. Tell him and his kid I'm selling my 10% back at the number we had it appraised at a year earlier and no way in hell will they be open in 4 years with Junior in charge. They want to pay me off over 10 years. Told them hell no, you got 1 year from today. This was 2011. They paid me off in 2012...and were broke and had both lost their homes by 2015 thanks to Junior and his business practices.

Guy should have taken a half day vacation. Falsifying a Dr appointment to save PTO is unethical.

I leveraged a job i had been at for less than a year and bosses and administrators' letters of recc to get into a competitive grad school program.

After getting accepted i put in my 2 weeks notice. The doctors (MDs, mostly anesthesiologists) I worked with were supportive and impressed, wished me well gave me contact info if I needed something etc.

The administrators and boss didn't make eye contact with me or acknowledge my existence even in passing. Very awkward but glad I did it.

Saw a guy sacking up all of his stuff and said the safety man was on his way to drug test everyone on a oilfield location. He said he would save the company money and just quit.

So not many people get to put in a 2 weeks notice in the service industry. I did.

I got a job offer after I got my degree and it was time to stop tending bar. Those of you who have been in the service industry might recognize that this is a hell of an opportunity to… interact with shitty customers.

For two weeks I singled out regular patrons who consistently treated staff like servants, told people no for exorbitant requests, explained the purpose of tipping, and generally told regular customers what the staff thought about them (not always bad, but mostly).

It was a liberating experience and I’m surprised I didn’t get fired.

Your info says Idaho but that sure sounds like at least one Lafayette company I know of.
I'm sure that's pretty commonplace though (idiot son taking over).

I worked maintenance at a holiday inn in high school. I had a key to every room and a walkie talkie. Usually we just moved furniture and changed light bulbs, etc. During down time, I'd just chill in an empty room and watch tv. The supervisor was a 400 lb guy. Super nice but he was a big dude and he didnt get around well. So, one day we get a call on the walkie to come down to room ##whatever and unclog the toilet. The supervisor had taken a huge shite and he needed me to clean it up.

Cant do it boss. I quit.

In college I worked as a merchandiser for Coke. I was at my first store around 6am and the place didn’t open for an hour so I had the whole place to myself and was actually the only time we were allowed to pull pallets out onto the floor. Well I decided it was a good idea to pull a skid full of unwrapped two liters out.. well that’s was when I clipped the side of a frozen cooler and the whole thing tipped and exploded everywhere and I mean everywhere. The store manager was stocking nearby and saw it happen so he looked at me saying it better be cleaned up before customers came in. He just pointed to this mop and kept stocking. I left immediately went back to the office and turned in the work phone and never returned. I was there roughly two months before I quit.

I worked with my GF, who became my fiancee, for 5 years, all over the world. At the end of my 5th year the company decided to replace my GF with a cheaper, new hire. We finished up in Tasmania, with them expecting me to go back to Europe in 3 weeks. I had gotten engaged in Tasmania also. I flew home and never even let them know I was done.
