Worst job interview you’ve ever had (Long but worth the read)

So this is a story I do not like to talk about but I felt the OT would appreciate it. About six years ago, I felt my vocation was to work as a financial consultant, and I went to interview with a firm in New Orleans. The interview was around eleven in the morning, but a buddy of mine had performed a live reinactment of Beowulf in Opelousas the night before, so I had to bust it back to NOLA that morning to make it to the meeting, and I stopped off at Jack in the Box for lunch (horrible decision).
So I show up at the office at around 2 and there’s a panel of about six employees there to interview me. One of the members was my uncles ex wife who I hadn’t seen since I was about 12 years old. I tried to make light of the awkward situation by saying “Financy seeing you here” rather than “Fancy seeing you here” since it was a finance firm, but no one was amused. To make matters worse, she and I bumped heads as we did an awkward hug and kiss on the cheek. An older gentleman then proceeded to let me know that my fly was down also.
I thought the situation could only go uphill from there, but boy was I wrong. I was already suffering from a sore throat among other allergies, and I had numerous voice cracks as the panel interrogated me. I then sneezed into my coat sleeve, and looked down in horror to see green snot all over my sleeve, meaning I had to excuse myself to get a tissue. Additionally, my stomach was on fire from the jack in the box, and I damn near shite my pants. I could not control my bowels any longer, and I accidentally let a silent one out. I looked around the room and saw the looks of disgust on the face of the panel, and I was dismissed from the meeting shortly thereafter. Needless to say, I was not given the job. That day still gives me nightmares.

That’s the most obvious made up story I’ve seen in awhile. Congrats.

Well, that’s the most misspelled I’ve ever seen the word “cotton” in awhile

First interview when I made the switch to construction. Showed up in slacks, dress shoes, button down and a blazer thinking I needed to dress nice for the interview. The yard foreman called my uncle (who got me the interview) to see if he was just fricking with him, with me still in the room.
It was for a pipeline swamper spot, so needless to say I was a tad overdressed.

I met a guy for an interview. I was a field engineer at that time. As the interview was going on I noticed that the guy was staring at the underside of my right wrist. I had a long sleeve shirt on but it had ridden up a little and my bar code tattoo was clearly showing. He muttered something about the mark of the beast and ran from the room. I didn't get the job.

Yes it was disquieting to me that I could have mutilated any chance of achieving my vocation that day

If we're making up scenes we'd like to see in a movie....check this one out.
A nice upper-class suburban home...think John Hughes movies type of homes. Nervous teenager goes to the door to pick up a girl for his first date. The front door opens. Dude hears a preacher channel on the TV, very loud volume. Answering the door is a kid with Downs..think Corky from Life Goes On...but this kid has his hair died jet black, wearing a slayer shirt, and a spiked collar around his neck. He walks inside and Corky goes back to watching Joel Osteen preach the gospel.
I don't know what happens from there but I think it'd be pretty funny to see on film. Certainly more funny than running late to an interview because you had to catch your boy starring in fricking Beuwolf.

Not even gonna lie I laughed at points throughout this. It seems way too outrageous to be true.
This was your biggest mistake. I knew the story wasn’t going to get any better after reading this part. You also should have avoided the reenactment of Beowulf.

So you were late by 3 hrs due to being too hungover from the night before, ate the WORST possible food before going in, while still feeling the effects, you had “allergies” and make bad jokes to an ex family member?
Pretty easy to see why you didn’t get that job.
