I like Leakey, Tarpley, Vanderpool, Utopia, Camp Wood down to Concan. More impressive hills and fewer transplants, present company excepted of course.

That isn’t remotely true. There are dozens of AVAs on the west coast that produce significantly more.

NWGA has had 2 days of rain in 2 months in some places. If not for Helene, would be one of the worst droughts on record. Have some long term wells running dry around me.

To further highlight the absurdity of the above statement:

Hill Country vineyard acreage - approx. 1,000 acres
Goose Ridge Winery, outside of Tri Cities, WA - 2,200 acres

Goose Ridge is in Washington’s second smallest AVA (Goose Gap) by geographic size.

I would venture to say that most people in Texas and Louisiana know where the Hill Country is. If you don't, you probably don't get out much.

Why would anyone move to Texas expecting anything but a shitty climate?

I can't think of another major city in the country with worse weather than DFW. They literally have 4 shitty weather seasons

Colorado Springs if you are worried about cost. Colorado has the best 4 season weather in the world.

Nope, grossly over crowded and shite houses way over priced plus over crowded interstate. 12 - 15 years ago maybe.

Absolutely beautiful. I was there for a wedding in September and it was amazing weather. Monticello was perfect. The wineries in the Piedmont region are great.

Having said that, I was also there 2 Christmas' ago and it was absolutely brutal. Negative temps, absolutely bone-chilling. Appomattox was "how fast can we get back to the car"

The Carolinas, Tennessee, Kentucky are all beautiful, but too cold for me. SW Florida is expensive and filled with snowbirds.

100% this. Napa produces 100 point cabs. Texas Hill Country produces bulk wine you serve at the bachelorette party.
