Worst cluster on I10, BR bridge or Mobile tunnel?

I’m voting tunnel is worse. Traffic backs up 100% because of the tunnel. Once you pass the tunnel, traffic clears up.

The BR bridge is backed up due to the congestion in the city. Even if you cross the bridge, there’s still traffic. The slow down is not 100% due to the bridge.

All the billions of dollars we give to other countries and we can’t find the funds to fix our own infrastructure. Pathetic. What say you?

I've talked to the movers and shakers at the supper club about this. They've assured me the new bridge should fix the problem in BR

Another bridge will only make things worse.

Maybe twice have I had trouble at the tunnel.

BR bridge is a guaranteed clusterfrick, no matter what.

Uh, yeah it is - what other part of I-10 has it designed where its 3 lanes of traffic and the left and right lanes are exit only?

With an incoming merge at base. It really bottles the mind.

The great mayor of BR did all that MoveBR work and it’ll all go down the dump when traffic patterns change completely. Not that traffic was getting any better, but everything they’ve worked to improve will change drastically.

Hard to believe the movers and the shakers can agree on anything

I think we need a BR tunnel, just to claim the outright title.

They are both cluster frick but both cities do have advantages over the other.

BR
-you can take the old bridge and take 110(if you’re coming from190). You still have to face BR traffic BUT you avoid the cluster frickness of the new bridge.
-you can find alternate routes to get around the BR traffic(exit on Nicholson to Burbank then highland and back on 10) but you have to deal with the new bridge.

Mobile
-tunnel sucks in the afternoons but you’re moving.
-you can take alternate routes(65, 165, 90, then back on 10 near Spanish Fort) but it takes you way out of the way.

All this is heading east of course. But the conclusion is that they both suck.

The tunnel is only really bad in Summer, the others all the time. What do they have in common? Louisiana drivers

Outside of peak traffic times in the summer, I have rarely been backed up a long time at the tunnel. I live in Baton Rouge near the Jefferson / Highland area. It takes me about an hour to drive through Baton Rouge from work every day. The traffic going west is worse in the evenings. Going anywhere near downtown to eat at a restaurant in the evening during the week is not an option. I had work visitors from out of town that wanted me to meet them at Parrain's about 7 PM a few months back and it took me an hour to drive the 10 miles from my house. I took Perkins since googlemaps showed it taking even longer on the interstate. Traffic was still at almost a stand still heading west when we left the restaurant. I took my wife to Jolie's downtown for dinner a couple nights ago and waited until 7 PM and it nearly took an hour. It's not worth it to even go to any of those restaurants during the week. Every alternative route in Baton Rouge takes just as long.

BR Bridge shits all over the Mobile Tunnel

Mobile Tunnel can be horrible at times, but the BR Bridge is always a nightmare

It's not the bridge, it's the east bound I-10/110 interchange that's the cluster frick..
