Pretty much all of Louisiana's cities are dangerous other than maybe Lafayette and Lake Charles. They might have their own crime issues too that I'm just not aware of.

LC has quite the escort business going on around the casinos.

I keep seeing this and am genuinely curious why. Have only ever stopped for lunch there...what makes it awful. My wife went to school there and had friends there and often suggests we could relocate there...I say hell no, but need some concrete reasons

The dynamic of AEX changed when England AFB closed and the town went down quickly after that.

All of them.

Especially Bogalusa (the smell) and the towns whose primary industry is speed traps.

There are parts of Slidell that are very nice. Along Bayou Liberty and Bayou Bonfuca have some great properties.

It went from a fairly busy military town to a semi-ghost town.

Yeh Ferriday is pretty depressing and Jonesville isn't far behind it. Seems everyone in Jonseville is moving to Harrisonburg (or atleast sending their kids to school there). I would have loved to go to Ferriday back in the heyday though. But its not just Ferriday so many of the small towns look like ancient ruins when you go to their little "strip" maybe one day revitalizing old town squares will be in style.

So that's why it gets a bad rap, cause its sleepy? I mean makes sense.... was wondering if it was something specific mentality wise. Like when I lived in Monroe it felt like the old guard ultra baptist mentality kept the town from growing into what it could have been...was frustrating as hell to watch
