re: Worst behavior you've seen at a wedding or funeral?

Ex girlfriend tried to climb into the casket. Deceased had kicked her to the curb for being to clingy and wanting to get married as in, acting like they already were. Current girlfriend was extremely hot Russian chick and they hadn't been going out too long.
To her credit, she just backed up and let the drama ensue.
Small town BS

At my grandfathers funeral a neighbor asked us if we were going to be selling any of his tractors. POS.

If we were in a bathtub together I would tell you to eat my bubbles.

At a wake of an old patient the family played Freebird. Everyone was in jeans. A few folks wore decent shirts but mostly t shirts or denim. One lady lit up a cigarette in the cry room. I stopped by just to give my condolences but stayed just to watch. I was getting paid anyway as it was during working hours. At the end there was yelling about who got his 2 hunting dogs. Later I find out that the grandson already took the dogs. There was no grave side service.

I was a stupid kid at 6-7 years old and I apparently went to a funeral with my parents and as we were paying respects to the deceased and we started walking off and then I stopped and turn around violently like are you really dead and then make a couple steps forward, then turn back and yell are you really dead. Almost entire house was chuckling and laughing. Mom was mortified, grabbed my hand and ran off with me.
I can barely remember any of this so that's how my parents told me the story.

This isn't really 'behavior' but I went to a wedding in suburban Memphis last summer and some trash on the bride's side was wearing cargo shorts and an untucked American Eagle
shirt you could tell was the nicest thing he owned. I still can't fathom the level of trash you must be to consider that appropriate for a wedding.

People wearing jeans and polos or their "nice" t shirt.

Honestly, that preacher should have had his arse kicked.

Yes. He should have declined to perform the service.
Assuming this actually happened, we have no way of knowing if he did this at the request of the next of kin.
But if he took it upon himself, he was wrong to do that.

I believe I see the root of the issue.

Went to a wedding in Independence around Christmas. Priest came from KC Christmas party next door, drunk as a skunk. Forgot half of the Mass. Altar was decorated with Christmas trees with those blinking lights that go really fast. People during procession are waving at friends, relatives, "how's your momma?" Very loud! Went to reception and best man, who was falling down drunk spilled red wine all over the brides gown. She starts screaming, "I'm gonna frickin' kill you." Fight ensued. I left. But, she looked beautiful.

Had an Aunt and GF (of her son) fight at the casket because the GF wanted to put a picture, of her and he, on his chest.
Aunt said "Hell no", they tussled, and partially collapsed his chest in.
**He had died in a wreck and steering wheel broke several ribs.
My Grandmother grabbed me and said "time to go baby".
Crazy stuff

At my moms funeral some relatives I've never met before came in town from Alabama. They started taking pictures of my mom in her casket at the wake. They didn't ask permission and all three had cameras out with the flash on taking multiple pics at different angles. It was obnoxious and I told them to stop. They looked at me like I was an a-hole. Is that something common in Alabama? I can understand someone taking a pic before or after the service but not in the middle of the wake. Wtf?
I thought only National Enquirer photogs and David Allen Coe did this kind of shite.

Guy plastered drunk at my best buddies wedding got into his car after the reception and slammed into 2 cars in the parking lot then passed out. We called the cops to come get him and went on with our night.

Had a 90+ year old aunt that died. She was basically a very decent person but had an opinion on everything. Her minister of over 20 years was struggling to find something nice to say about her in his eulogy. I don't think I have ever felt as sorry for someone trying to speak in my life. I laughed all the way on the drive home. Knowing my aunt, she probably had a laugh too !
