I was gonna say Chouest (he has more than 1 btw). There are a handful of billionaires in Louisiana but they are very low key which should be a hint to any of you that ever become billionaires.

There are more. The smart ones distribute their wealth over time to their family rather than making a list.

Every fricking time this thread happens on the OT people post all this cryptic shite about people in Louisiana they know of having more than a billion dollars. The truth is Forbes values private companies too - you know Koch Industries is private, right? And Mars, and plenty of other privately held companies. And they're still on the list. Hell, I bet Morris Bart is within spitting distance of Gary Chouest's net worth.

I could believe that they've missed some billionaires and/or over-under inflated the net worth of others because it's impossible to know every investment in which they have a stake.
But we're talking about the area that just crosses the threshold. Do I think Gary Chouest is really worth 5 billion and nobody has a clue? No.

I'd bet that Morris Bart couldn't maintain the Chouest family's jets much less be even close in net worth.
Laney Chouest isn't even close to Gary's net worth and he paid cash to build Nola Motorsports and it went over budget to almost $100mill.

But yes he does have a couple billion. He has just as much money as Benson, probably more (especially when oil prices go back up with Who Dat and Delta House).

He is from LA and his company is based here and I would be willing to bet its a couple more than a couple. Chouest is the wildcard, I have seen estimates from 4 to 17 B.
