Workplace Performance scores should be made public, just like grades in college

Post them in the break room for all to see. Encourages transparency from the higher ups and discourages the good ole boy network.

Also incentivizes the brightest and bestest to rise above their colleagues for all to see.

So tired of seeing slackers who affect other's projects get good scores come performance eval time, despite obvious inputs from team members otherwise.

Oh, and while I'm at it, salaries should be posted as well.

Enough of this secrecy bullshite.

I guess every place is different but when I was in college it wasn't uncommon to have final grades posted on the professor's door.

You must have a shitty boss if he can’t determine who the slackers are vs the producers. Business is business, no room for the good ole boy network, will be a dumpster fire one day.

As a young database nerd at a plant , I naively shared a salary spreadsheet with a few coworkers when I left. It did not go well.
Our boss found out, and needless to say, he would never give me a good recommendation if I asked.

I was idealistic and stupid and I was actually angry because a lady in our department made less than me yet was twice as experienced. I didn't understand how that worked when old people were close to retirement. And I had 3 other skills she lacked.

Tldr: private industry doesn't share salary information for a good reason.

The only reason for salary secrecy is so that management can get away with paying people less than they would be willing to pay them due to an information imbalance. It’s shitty and causes a lot of backbiting.

Management should always be prepared to justify why X is paid more than Y. If they can’t, they are piss poor managers.

You're a frickin public defender. Shut up. Your opinion is stupid.
Go over to Taylor Porter and tell them managing partners that idealistic shite. "Hey share bonus and salary info across the company." Ya Retard. I still love you.

And glassdoor is handy for that info now anyhow.

Right, but your shitty employee isn't going to see it that way.

They will go straight to race or sex as the only reason why. Not their performance.

it's so they can suppress wages internally

thats why you have to leave your company to get a real raise, for the most part

when I was a teaching assistant I would always post grades on the professor's door. It was done by student number and not names.

Agreed. Post the notes on the reviews whole you're at it.

If I'm slacking, odds are I know I'm slacking. Public shame me and maybe I'll try harder

It would never happen, but it’s funny to dream about.

I am in sales at a tech company based in San Francisco. My company has a bunch of hardcore, ultra left-wing liberals in all parts of the company, including the executive suite. But they post our sales results for all to see.

And if sales aren’t performing well, those bleeding heart liberals can become pretty gangster over night.

Would love to see what others would do if they had that kind of oversight and accountability.

It ain't gonna happen. It's not your business what I am rated.
But
I'm retired. I did that stuff for nearly 35 years though.
