Dude, you a being a huge pansie arse in what is otherwise a pretty interesting thread. We got it the first 5 times you posted it. We are aware that they treat some people like shite. Get over it.

nobody is forcing the indians to go work there. they may get fricked in some instances but so does anyone else. its not like these guys go in not knowing what is up. these guys are living in boxes back home in shithole India. this is a way for them to come make some money and take care of their families.
This is wrong. Many of them are promised higher salaries than what they actually receive, have their passports confiscated by their employers so they can't leave, and have to pay extremely high visa fees relative to their pay checks. They are essentially free labor and can't escape, which is why many people have been up in arms about the Qatar World Cup. Many of them would give anything just to be able to leave the damn place and go back to those poor conditions in India./Pakistan/Nepal. That should tell you something. Plus, the lives of these guys mean nothing to their Arab bosses. Nothing. 1000 people have already died working on that 2022 World Cup.

You've advocated for America to return to slavery. You're finished and have definitively lost this argument.

You've advocated we do what Dubai has done. So to make it brief, go frick yourself. We're better than being a slave state.

Well certainly not Indian and I would be teaching at a private school
If you are teaching, you really need a lawyer to go over your contract on what your expectations are.
If you are given certain metrics - like 85% of a class has to pass - and you don't meet them, the placement company can force you to work til you meet it or they can retroactively take money back from you.
You need to know exactly how you are going to get paid, the terms of payment, any penalties and any visa/local employment laws.
You need an airtight contract.

The passport confiscation thing is real for many of the lower level professions and it is slavery. Many of them work construction in 110 plus degree heat without the right equipment, nutrition and healthcare. Thousands die but there's no accountability.

Restaurants do not serve alcohol. If you want a drink you have to go to a hotel
You will never ever get used to the smell of all the hookah smoking at restaurants.
Service industry kinda blows. Good luck trying to return anything without it being a giant hassle.
Food is expensive
Apartments are pricey
Arabs can be obnoxious
Other than that, it's a solid city.
clean,
little crime
most people speak English
Good public transportation
You'll meet people from all parts of the world.
It's much cheaper to fly to Europe or other Asian countries from Dubai than US
Great nightlife.
Overall, it's just a enjoyable city to live in if you want to experience a country that isn't too different but different enough than any city in the US
Also make sure to buy as much alcohol as you can at the duty free stores in the airport. It's the only place you'll be able to buy any.

Also, if Dubai doesn't work out you should try looking at Shanghai. I have a friend tteaching there whose told me that they are dying for more English speaking teachers

I had a friend who had a very good 10 year run with a teaching gig in Thialand. I think he went to teach English to business students

Landshark seems pretty passionate, yet I don't see him doing shite about the situation other than typing on TD.

Talked to a girl who was hired to be a nanny/tutor for some kids in Dubai. She ended up sending a bunch of money for "fees," showed up in Dubai and there was no job. There are evidently some shady mothers over there.

Does India not have an embassy in Dubai? Seems like an easy fix would be to go there and get a new copy.
