It really is hilarious. Board runs conservative. Free market. Personal responsibility.

It’s everything but themselves.

feminism is to blame but it's a 2-way street

the reason why marriage rates are down are primarily b/c the top 20% of women are going for the top 1% of men, just being shuffled around. while this skews everything below, it's not just bad for men. women who fall into this paradigm don't have marriage options, either.

the biggest difference is access to emotional and sexual relationships. some men are completely excluded (while almost no women are). this thread is about marriage though, not sex.

What if you simply find a good man who’s equally yoked? That eliminates the idea of “marrying up” because if you both value the same things morally, in your faith, education, and career, then the rest should fall into place. Doesn’t mean you’re marrying rich, but if that’s your only qualification, then you’re probably vapid and only have one thing going for you, anyway.

The problem is this article, other studies and other interviews (such as the one poster who referenced the Tucker Carlson segment) shows that even equal financial resources isn't enough. Women still want men who are still better off then them so they can marry up, even though (as other posters have mentioned) women are taking a lot of jobs than used to be occupied by men.

Women seem to be in denial that it's simply a numbers game, as more women take the highly coveted positions there are going to be less guys who are at their financial level. Women soon enough are going to have a choice:

1) (If they're lucky) Marry a man who makes the same (but not more) as her.
2) Marry down to a man who makes less than what she makes.
3) Accept being single her whole life.

The choice is hers but it is a choice more and more women are going to have to make.

I seriously doubt very many female professional business executives are going to marry a male school teacher or prison guard or even a policeman.

How about this question: Is a hot rich woman who doesn't need a dime of a man's money more open to dating an Average Joe (in terms of looks and money) with great intangibles than a hot woman working 9-5 for below average pay?

Correct and I must say I understand a woman not being down with a man making 30/40k. 30/40k is pretty low for a person you expect to start a family with.

stats show women do not marry "down" very often. it's more than just income, though. education, living location preference, etc. are a part of it

like i said earlier, there are hidden variables that are really skewing this. if women won't marry down and college graduation is 60% women, that leaves a major shortage of college-educated men to marry them.

Not the primary topic, but this can't be emphasized enough. Women think men have it so much better in dating but the reality is it's the opposite. Unless the woman is just a truly atrocious 1 or 2 almost any woman can have sex. With online dating and social media about 80% of women are going after the top 20% of men. Another 20% of men will have a chance with the next 10% of women.

The other 60% of men, including almost all average men and all below average (but not ugly) men are pretty much excluded from sex. That's why IMO you're seeing so many young men committing violent acts and how groups like Incels have grown.

It always devolves into the same crap. Dude can't get laid? Well, of course... he must park a boat in his driveway / smoke / have a New Iberia haircut / pay too much attention to youth baseball.

Whatever. I guess I don’t buy it because it doesn’t apply to me or any women I associate with.

I’ve been the breadwinner for the majority of my working career, except in my current relationship, but that was literally the last thing I cared about. I guess that’s why my female mentors (mom, aunts, grandmas) all rode my arse about school and a good career. And thank God they did, because money has never been a reason for why I’ve chosen who I’m with. I can do for myself. And I’ll raise my daughter to be the same way.

Its like you know how to read, but you're totally missing what is being said

I don't see what you don't get here.

The most desirable women go for the most desirable men. The most desirable men go for the most desirable women. Everyone else falls in place and stays mostly within their lane.

You find incel groups and women bitching about no good men when someone is oblivious to what they actually have to offer (be it looks, financial success, etc.) and doesn't stay in their lane. With the exception of psychos/creeps/nutcases, the incels and the women who complain about no good men likely can find a partner. They are just going after people who don't match up to what they themselves offer.

I feel like you're arguing in circles. Both genders do the exact same thing. One is money, one is looks. Same shite.

Can anyone find me a single male that wouldn't be okay with their wife/SO making more than them?

Except only one side is trashed, ridiculed, mocked and even threatened for expressing this. This one side is targeted by the media and society at large for acting on attraction.

Can you guess which side that is?

There was a thread a while back, probably over a year ago about this topic. Most people were on board, but there were a few hold outs that claimed shite like they wouldn't feel like real men if their wives made more money.

Exactly. I'd love to gather a bunch of incels in real life and get to know them a bit. I'd put money on these people having a lot less to offer than they realize.

Again, I mean this to both men and women. The women and men whining about the other side not wanting them are not self aware enough.. and they're going after something they don't necessarily "deserve" due to that.
