They are already dropping. I sold the 4 I had (with my daughters permission) for $3,150 each. The same section is currenly selling for $2,700.
And frick you if you dont like the free market. I signed up and got lucky enough to buy tickets early on. I sold them for a huge profit and then bought two from a friend a few months later. Made money and my daughter still gets to go, even though she would rather go to a Morgan Wallen concert.

Yea the $500+ in fees is absurd. Especially considering tickets are all digital.

The real issue is that live nation owns Ticketmaster. Live nation controls all of the venues/tickets and thus the artists. They control the release of tickets and then the re-sale.
Sounds like the easiest anti-trust case to come down the pike since Standard Oil. Clearly, there’s a monopoly that charges exorbitant fees to participate. Also, there have been many, many, many artist who have complained about this set up.

In the early 90’s Pearl Jam got pissed enough that they tried to do their own ticketing for shows. I don’t remember the specific details, but it failed badly.

Couldn’t play traditional venues. Each show was independent and had to be step up individually.

Overheard the wife (no pics) talking about this. Saying groups of women are planning to spend the weekend in NOLA in the hopes of tickets dropping in price right after the concert starts. Apparently this is a thing for all of her concerts.
If you have a hotel room in walking distance, would be fun.
If you don’t, god bless you

As a dad of two young T swift fans, I can say that the secondary ticket market needs a makeover. It’s ridiculous.
I agree with your clarification that this is about the fees, but I did want to comment on the secondary market ticket prices as well. Was looking around for some laughs at the absurd prices. They have tickets behind the stage going for between $2,500 to over $4k. Yet, you can find floor seats for the same if not cheaper.

But the catch is that you have to be prepared to go home disappointed.
Yea this never happened for LSU Clemson in the natty a few years ago.

New Orleans is basically getting two super bowl impacts in a calendar year
My friends in New Orleans are making an extra $4000 renting their place out those two weekends.

A friend had someone inquire about their place here in Louisville for the Indy concert next week. It's about a 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hour drive from here to there.

The countdown starts......hits zero..........and the mad horde descends on the neutral zone as the tickets drop from the suspended bag above.
Bring back Tina Turner and you have Thunderdome Redux.

I am dying laughing at Mama Bear pulling up to the Travel Inn in Harvey with Braylen and Taylen in tow

They'd be better off in a sleeping bag under the interstate.

I’m not going to have tickets to the Super Bowl but I’ll still go to No for the festivities.

Mamas will be showing tatas for tickets to Tay Tay.

A handful of tickets could fulfill all one's milf and her daughter fantasies
This isn't hyperbole at all.
I have been stunned by some of the lengths some women have gone to get to her show. I personally know multiple moms who have spent several thousand dollars for tickets. I know others who bought "cheaper" tickets to shows in places like Germany and Canada, and are spending the money to fly there to attend the shows. It's unreal.
I have ZERO doubt there is a healthy market of adult women who would be more than willing to do ANYTHING for tickets
