Think it is someone who has been inside the house before?

Regardless, this should be tracked down well if done right.

Rational choice theory.

They weigh risk versus reward and likely hood of punishment being imposed swiftly.

Blood in the water come 2020. Juveniles fitting to eat in this State.

Someone knew he would be gone, and how long also. Someone with knowledge of his itinerary for that day. Just my two cents. Police should be able to track this down with good all around police work.

Hopefully they had cameras of some sort

I bet they expected them both to be at the funeral. This is actually pretty common. A colleague was telling me the other day that his college roommates teenage son died from a highly publicized accident in their area ( SF). It was on the news, etc. The day him and his wife come home from the funeral, they find their house burglarized.

There is a special place in hell for people that do this.

No doubt she knew the person. Why else would they the her up then murder her? I'd start with former employees.

When my FIL died suddenly, my BIL had some friends guard his house during the funeral services.

Apparently, thugs read the obituaries and rob the deceased homes during the services. Really sick sub humans.

You're getting downvotes, but I too wouldn't doubt it will happen.

At a funeral, stopped for food for her, tried to call several times and got no answer. Could be construed by the cops as trying desperately to set up an air-tight alibi with leaving an easy trail to follow with video surveillance and cell phone tower coordinates to verify his claims.

Just wait until juvenile justice reform goes into full effect in 2020.

The Trucko Stampley’s of Baton Rouge are gonna smell blood in the water when they realize how much violence they can get away with at the seasoned age of 17.

Thank Captain Honor Code.

You understand that just because something starts in the juvenile system doesn't mean it stays there, right? You understand that, under current law, 16 year olds arrested for murder started in the juvenile system and could then be transferred to the adult system because of the type of offense, right?

Including "violent crimes" in the Raise the Age push simply means that 17 year olds who get arrested for getting in a fight and knocking their opponent cold (Second Degree Battery) will now be in the juvenile system instead of automatically going into the adult system. 17 year olds that get arrested for murder are going to start in the juvenile system and very quickly get transferred.

I appreciate that the media is dogshit, but the misinformation spouted on this board as fact is absurd...

I know. I watch a lot of true crime shows and I know cops get suspicious when someone seems to have that type alibi.

Either way, sorry for the fact the lady was killed in such a horrible manner, no matter who perpetrated it.

This is terrible. There's a special place in hell for those who prey on the elderly. 74 years is a long time to survive only for this kind of crap to happen to her. Sucks.

Honor those who come before you because one day "they" will be you.
