Am I missing something? Why is the place supposed to be so scary/inhospitable? In winter months I can see the concern. But what wild animals are supposed to inhabit the island that makes it so challenging?

Cabin fever? No running water, electricity, internet, probably shitty cell service... Apparently, this lady was bold for staying 4 days in a row, even the original owner never stayed that many days in a row.

I want to know how long the cabin has been there.

Seems a winter storm would pretty easily wash right over that rock.

doesn't actually say when the cabin was built. but, says the guy owned the island since 2007.

and

"I purposely went out in the fall during a storm to see what it was like," Gale said.

The small wooden structure remained solid, she said, despite the blustering wind audible throughout the cabin.

Its in the bay, but i don't see any way to heat that small cabin, There is a charcoal pit...don't see another way to generate heat. The lamp is on and plugged in?

found this.

quote:

Built in 2009, the well-maintained and furnished cottage is surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches.

As Milliken told us, “The cottage has a setback of 75 feet and is a well-built, solid structure.

Water has never been in the home—as the building is on stilts.”

Inside, the wood-clad interior features oversized windows that let in an abundance of light and offer 360-degree ocean views. The azure waters can also be enjoyed from the front porch hammock. With just two rooms, the rustic cottage features a wooden ladder in the main living area to access a loft space with twin beds. On the main level, there’s a kitchenette, a dining table for four, and a living room with comfortable seating.

its pretty close to another larger island.

There's always the nude beach on the southside of the island in Summer. Invite the Golden Girls over.
