the manager asserted that the prohibition on breastfeeding in the lazy river was a "courtesy" to other guests and justified it under the park's policy against food or drinks in the water.

I mean, that is kind of a valid point. If I’m in a body of water with people that I will assuredly be drifting through, I don’t want to float through anyone’s bodily fluids.

This woman really tried to claim "no food or drink" is discriminatory towards mothers.

This is stooopid ! Women should be able to breast feed anywhere without immature people reacting. Its a natural, beautiful thing. Its not sexual, but immature people make a sexual thing out of it. This fear of nudity is comical. Its a simple turn of the head if it bothers you-thats all. I really don't understand how that bothers people so much though.
Now having the baby out in 100+ degree temps I wouldn't do.

Are you under the impression that air conditioning is "natural". Fairly certain it is natural for mothers to have their babies outside

The AAP guidelines were updated in 2022 to expand to 2 years. It’s taken awhile for us here to get back to what is clearly the correct course of action. Formula is best was a real thing for a long time.

My wife did the same, but given her profession there was plenty of pumping and bottle feeding of that. She has a host of great stories about pumping while lawyering, my favorite being pumping on the ferry back from pointe a la hache and parked between opposing counsel and the deponent after a very contentious deposition.

Just go breastfeed somewhere else instead of making a huge deal over it. Karen had to speak to the manager

I’m pretty sure it’s tooth eruption that leads a lot of mothers to hang up the milkers. And pumping is a hassle.

Feeding a baby while floating in a public pool is gross. Babies often spit up during feedings, be that bottle or breast, no one wants to swim in your babies spittle.

Rule is clear, no eating or drinking in the lazy river.

Rule enforcement and the expectation for individuals to adhere to a simple set of minimal expectations, standards and reality is not shaming.

You want to breastfeed on the river, go find public property but when the water park has attire and food/drink consumption requirements, adhere or leave.

Nobody has a right to ignore their rules because they don't like them but they do have a right to not attend in the first place.

I doubt the screen name is truthful. There aren’t many titties on this entire planet that I would be this disgusted by. What a childish response to a breast.

All the people itt talking about bodily fluids in a lazy river are killing me. A water activity where people lounge for long periods of time and you are grossed out at the thought of coming into contact with some spit-up or breast milk? Really? You e already been pissed, sweated, spit, jizzed on and god knows what else in there.
